WaxyMaize What is It?
Waxymaize, what is it? Many new products such as Volumaize, Intravol, and WAR are advertising that this starch/carb can increase glycogen loading pre, during, and post workout. However does this ingredient live up to it’s hype? Consumers must beware that their are many companies claiming that their product is the best! However in most cases it’s not! There are a two things to look at when determining whether or not a carbohydrate loading product is good. Low osmolality- what this means is that when you consume a carbohydrate that has a low osmolality it DOES NOT draw water to itself when it enters the stomach. Carbs like dextrose, sucrose, and fructose have higher osmolality and tend to draw water to them when they enter the stomach. This causes them to expand in the stomach leaving you bloated and inhibiting the time it takes to go from your stomach into the small intestine. Lastly molecular weight- the weight of a carb determines how effectively it will absorb. Carbohydrates such as sucrose and maltodextrin will range in weight anywhere from 180 to 10,000. You are probably asking yourself what the hell does this all mean? Simple when researching a waxymaize product or any carb containg product, it is important to make sure that the product is using high molecular weight branched chain glucose polymer and that it’s the first ingredient listed in the proprietary blend. Products that I would highly recommend if you are looking into a product like this would 8BetaAnabol,Vitargo, WAR, Volumaize, and Intravol.
