If it is the spray/sponge brush combo I would start the day before and put on a couple coats. It is time consuming and needs to set. If you need to be darker, put on another coat early that morning. For my last show I spray tanned twice and then used the Dream Tan Instant Competition color. That stuff rocks, comes off easily and you can apply it the same day you compete- that way you don't have to walk around looking like a weirdo for any longer than you have to :) Good Luck!! Make sure you exfoliate well and are dried off before applying it. In the mornings shower like normal and make sure to apply some moisturizer. The longer you can keep the tan on the deeper it will set in. Wear cheap clothes and if possible they make bed and pillow covers so that they don't get stained.
