Broken Window Fallacy

August 11, 2009

Frederic Bastiat, a 19th century French political economist, tells the story of a shopkeeper who has to hire a glazier to repair a broken window, providing work and income for him in the process. That’s what is seen.

What is unseen is what the shopkeeper would have done if he didn’t have to pay the glazier. He might have bought shoes for his children, providing income for the shoemaker, who in turn could buy leather to produce more shoes. The glazier’s gain is the shoemaker’s loss. There is no net gain, no job or income creation, from this transaction.

This is why government stimulus will never work.

I am starting to get discourage…

August 10, 2009

…Jon Chipko and Scott Paltos to the rescue.  I will be working with Jon and Scott at Body Goals to fix my weaknesses and they will help get me strong!

Scheduling will be tough but I am suppose to figure that out with them today!

I am starting to get discouraged but I am excited that I will bust through my current rut.

It is not your fault that you have pain but it is your fault if you do not make it your job or a priority to get help and treat the cause effectively.

Stay Strong!

Shoulder & Back Pain Solutions

July 2, 2009

I have posted this info twice in the past week but I know it was ignored.  I guess people are lazy and would rather be in pain than Stay Strong and keep lifting heavy weight.

If you are lazy and want to stay weak…then stop reading now because the fix is not easy.

Some other tips are:

Do not hyper extend your neck during any exercise (that includes squats, DLs, over head pressing) unless you like neck and upper back pain.

Perform two to three times as much pulling as you do pushing.  You should be able to pull what you press.  If you cannot then you are headed for certain disaster!

You should not sit for more than fifteen minutes at a time.  I bring my GymBoss to work and set it for fifteen minute intervals that forces me to stand up and stretch my arms to the ceiling.  Wall slides are good and hip flexor stretching should be worked in as well.

Warmup with these mobility drills:

Buy a foam roller:

You can foam roll before your workout but I like to foam roll before bed seven days a week.

Stay hurt and weak or…

Stay Strong!

…it is up to you.
