9 weeks to Potomac Cup - random update cause i’m HYPER

Still looking good, still working hard.  New personal max on flat bench today.  4 nice clean reps at 125.  I had a spotter but he didn’t touch the bar until the 5th rep.  It felt awesome.  I’m going for big girl plates next week!

Got my 1-piece suits in earlier this week, the blue one will look banging on me onstage.  Even pasty white and soft it looks pretty good.  I’m SO pumped.  Bring it on!

Going the San Francisco with my mom in August and possibly Great Britain in December, it’s about to be an exciting year!  (Can you tell I’m in a super mood today?)

9/12 weeks out

I sent my pics to a friend who competes to show him my progress since our last show and he commented that my legs need work.  I’ve spent the past YEAR focusing on my upper body and let my legs drop off.  Dang it.  So I’m redoing my split, now I’m going to train 6 days instead of 5.  I’m going to leave the diet where it is.  This 1600ish calorie thing is working nicely for me.

Mon - still back

Tues - still Shoulders/Arms

Wed - Legs - Volume

Thurs - Chest

Fri - Shoulders/Arms

Sat - Legs - Heavy

I figured doing my heavy leg day on Sat would be better because I’d be more likely to be better rested before the workout?  I don’t know.  Open to any comments and suggestions, as usual.  Have a great holiday weekend all!

exciting day!

well, i got photos this morning, check them out.  it’s amazing how far i’ve come in a year.  so motivating.  i’m almost 100% sure i’m going to do the NGA show on july 26.  i look better now than i usually look 8 weeks out!

also, i started my new bulked up diet today.  so far i have to force myself to eat all this food.  it’s so much.  but for breakfast i made the BEST THING EVER.  i cooked up some ground turkey breast with peppers and onions last night.  this morning i cooked up 1/2 cup of egg whites with a 1/2 cup of the turkey mixture, and covered it in hot sauce.  it was a bodybuilder’s country omelette, and it was AMAZING.  can’t wait to have one tomorrow!  i have to eat in 8 minutes and i swear, i don’t want it.  especially because the power is out here so i have to eat my chicken, sweet potato, and green beans COLD.  yuck.

12 weeks out

Making some minor diet adjustments.  I’m probably not eating enough, although I’m losing weight steadily I think I need some tweaks after talking to Tiffany yesterday.  I went to an OCB Show in Richmond and I’m more motivated than ever (which doesn’t really explain the cheeseburger I devoured last night, these things happen).  I’m going to stick with the same timing schedule because it fits in my day pretty well (except I’m always off on weekends) and just increase the volume a little bit.  Which is nice, because then I’ll prob be fuller.  Towards the end of last week I was just too tired and run down, I just needed sleep so bad by Friday afternoon.  Oh, and photos are coming, I promise.  I bought an awesome new camera and will get someone to do it this week. 

It’s very similar to the last one, just more food.  Don’t really feel like typing it out.  Training will stay the same.  Hit some PR’s last week, staying strong this week, hopefully this extra food will help that out.

13 weeks out - random update

OK, so yesterday my gray pants were loose, today my brown pants that i haven’t been able to squeeze into for months FIT WELL (these are the first size 4s i bought last year for my first diet so it’s a little sentimental) and my workout pants are starting to be baggy.  and weight STILL at 159.  SWEET.

last night i had a hard but very short back workout.  i HATE the gym at night.  completely packed, i just wanted to deadlift and row in peace, you would think nobody had ever seen a girl do that before.  Well….I DID rep 205 for the first time ever I think so it wasn’t that bad.  i got out of there quick, not down with the night crowd.  this morning i got so into my triceps that i neglected my bis and abs, hopefully i’ll be able to squeeze in another workout tonight after dinner with my fave church family.  (and yes, it’s a cheat meal, we’re having ice cream for dessert, exactly 1/2 cups with fresh fruit to be exact.)  otherwise i’ll never catch up.  today was a great training day, stinks that i had to cut it short because of my JOB.  boo.

So, I was going to add cardio this week but I see no point.  My weight didn’t move this week BUT my pants are hanging on my hips and bagging and sagging, when they were ass tight a week ago.  So magic IS happening.  I was working on posing with Destiny on Saturday and I have 8 week out legs, not 14 week out legs.  That slice of pizza I swiped Friday night was SO deserved and I didn’t even know it!  Going to keep up my current 5-day split, gonna kill my back tonight, can’t wait.  I’ll be at the OCB show in Richmond this weekend helping Destiny out.  I wish I were ready to compete, man I miss it, but I’m going to be in TOP shape for Lenda Murray.  It will be huge.

 

Also…now I’m helping two other girls get ready to compete.  Nice to know there are lots of girls around here that are interested, I just love to do this.

11/14 weeks out - slight change of plans

Friday, May 9th, 2008

So yesterday I almost lost my mind because I found out the Presidential Cup was being pushed back to September 13.  No way was I sacrificing my ENTIRE summer for one show.  I was ready to head to South of the Border and grab a 62 oz margarita and as many chimichangas as they could fit in the deep fryer.  Instead, I decided to focus on work, stay on my diet, and come up with a game plan last night.

I went to the gym and ran into Destiny (IRONY MUCH) and she told me that LENDA MURRAY is promoting an NPC National Qualifier in Norfolk on August 16!  Perfect timing!  So now I’m psyched to do my first NPC show, and 14 weeks out.  I’m 11 weeks out from the NGA Potomac Cup, this one I’m still debating.  Should be an easy, fun show, we shall see.  But I’m so excited this Lenda Murray came up, I gotta get some new suits and get some capped shoulders.  See you all at the Arnold next year :)

13 weeks out feeling great

I am getting pictures taken NEXT WEEK, if you don’t see them its because SUMMERGOAL let me down or i chickened out.  either way, i’ve been losing weight and haven’t started cardio.  i plan to add it in next week, still working on my schedule to see where it fits best.  my workouts are still killer, my diet is the same.  i may be imagining things but my shoulders look a little rounder.

the very interesting thing about this contest prep is that i’m still maintaining a life…while it’s hard i’m doing it…dating, staying involved with church functions, attending cookouts and going to the bars…it’s been a lot more fun with my focus not 110% on the gym.  i’m sleeping better and training harder.  we’ll see how long this lasts…still pretty high on carbs!  that’s all i really have to update for now…changes coming next week.
