damn deadlifts

why do i love heavy squats and deadlifts so much!?  i’ve been walking around like a grandma for 2 days now, dying in pain from deadlifting (not even that heavy!  wtf!)  i’m torn now…what do i do?  how can i get in shape for this shoot in less than three weeks without any lifting?  i’m no cardio queen and although i’ll keep up the low impact cardio so i don’t get fat i don’t really want pictures of me thin…i want LEAN…so frustrating

diet is going well (only on day 4 but still!)  I’m actually down 2 pounds, probably all water weight.  Speaking of water, for some reason I’m not drinking nearly enough.  I used to drink well over a gallon a day and now I’m not even getting half of that.  Yikes.  Hope I’m not doing too much damage.

As far as lifting, I don’t know.  I switched to a 5 day split, reorganized the routines a little bit, and this morning I went to pull 165 pounds off the floor and it took every ounce of strength in me to get one rep.  Three weeks ago I was doing 8 reps at 180!  What the heck!  It was a VERY poor workout today.

So, I guess I’m going to experiment with pyramids for the next few weeks.  The week after my photoshoot Brian and I are going on vacation so I’ll give my body a rest that week.  Hopefully it will be enough resting and relaxing to rejuvenate me to come back and kick butt at Yorton…

well i’ve been doing this workout scheme for about 6 or 7 weeks and my lifts are no longer increasing, in some things they are even DROPPING!  so i guess its time to switch it up.  i’m going to use the weekend to focus on cardio and diet because i have a photoshoot with jim guzel coming up in 3 weeks (www.aphroditephoto.com, his work is WOW) so i need to get some of this softness off of my body.  monday morning i’ll start kicking with the new plan.

m - th will have 2 a days (weights and cardio)

f will be rest

sat will be 2 weights and cardio

sun will be 1 workout - prob cardio

 

diet is going to be VERY low calories, almost contest low, 60P/20F/20C with some carb refuels probably on saturday and tuesday

unfortunately, i will not have laurie for the month of august, will need to find a replacement for 360 degrees of dance and monday night spinning….crap!

So my diet has been kind of eh for the last few weeks.  I’ve been eating clean about 80% of the time but definitely not paying attention to my macronutrient balances.  I’m starting to get tired more and hit plateaus in my training, so I think it’s time to start paying attention to the diet again.

Today’s Plan:  1934 cals (43 F/171 C/213 P)  I need to work on balancing carbs and protein a little better.  Can’t help it that I’m still afraid of carbs!  I’ll tweak this to get a 20/40/40 split over the next few days.

0500 1 scoop whey + 1/4 cup oats (should increase to 1/2 cup)

0530 workout

0630 bcaas, cee (should be taking another scoop of whey here)

0700 1/2 c egg whites with 2T salsa and 2T nonfat plain yogurt

0900 1 scoop whey

1200 4 oz chicken, 1/2 c peas, apple (should add carbs here i think…)

1500 1 scoop whey

1800 4 oz shrimp, 1 c brown rice, 1 c zucchini

2100 4 oz chicken, 1 c brown rice, 1/2 c peas

2300 2 T natty PB (my very fave snack before bed)

Hopefully tomorrow will look a little better.  And hopefully I won’t be tempted to snack on candy, my latest weakness.
