No amusing posts until September – disorganized lifter admits
Dear brothers in arms, I’ve been away from this space and will probably remain so for some time. I would have a lot to tell, especially concerning new and old injuries. Sometimes I feel us lifters have a pretty limited range of subjects: “So-and-so (or “I”, or whoever) hit X, did you see?” or “ooh… my elbow again… painful as hell” and last, but not least, “I got myself a new Inzer bla bla bla”. Injury, marks, equipment, marks, equipment, injury, injury… and quite often a new amazing training strategy.
Now this is new: I have just signed a contract with the largest publishing house in sports and physical education in Brazil for a book about “powerlifting and general conditioning”. So, either I organize myself, sit down and write it, or I’m gonna be in deep trouble by November, deadline for delivering the revised manuscript.
Besides that… I also agreed to keep a program of courses on training on non-meet weekends.
So no blogging for a while. At least “big time” blogging, nice articles and all.
I am having a lot of fun with the book – I really enjoy the technical literature on neural adaptation and all that, and it’s up to me to put the ingredients together and bake a nice literary cake. I hope it’s tasty.
News on performance: not so bad. Second try on my new katana, 264lbs. Deadlift, 357,5lbs. Don’t know about squat: didn’t max out on that yet. Should be close to DL, though.
Wish me luck and let’s see what comes out of this new phase!
