It’s easy when you can be a schedule. This was my life from June-August:

Wake up: 5AM…have protein shake…go to gym for weights/cardio

8AM - work (lifeguarding) …eat meal 2
10AM - swim 1500 m

11AM - eat meal 3

1PM - eat meal 4

4PM - eat meal 5

7PM - HOME eat meal 6

9PM - sleep!

I successfully lost 10 lbs over the summer this way, carefully monitering calories/macros to make sure I wasn’t losing too fast, and I was preserving my muscle.
It’s easy when you’re in a routine. Fast forward to mid August-September and put through dumb ass RA training and crazy days starting at 8AM and ending at 11PM with no gym available and only the food they give you..way to screw up my rhythm/metabolism. Now that I’ve got school and homework and a MASSIVE desire for a 4.0 this semester along with my random duty nights that last until 230AM and homework until whenever I finish it’s really really hard to think about fitness.

I have no time/desire to eat, and when I go to the cafe (on a meal plan) I don’t want anything they have there because I refuse to eat the junk food. The friends think I have an eating problem because I won’t eat ****ing ice cream. And here’s the thing with the gym: do you go or don’t you when you’ve only had a few hours of sleep?? I’m terrified I’ll end up very sick if I do that to myself because that happened to me when I was 17 during swim season…one practice from 6-730 and another from 330-630 on three and a half hours of sleep put me on my death bed along with severe depression for three months. I had to drop swimming for the year, and prayed that I could get into a minor accident on the way to school so I wouldn’t have to take a Chemistry exam or go to dance class and that I could just sleep in the hospital for the day.
If anyone has any words of encouragement, I’d be grateful.

i had the same issues when I was in law school. I ended up trying to get one or two workouts during the week, when possible, and getting two really good workouts on the weekends. I hope the semester goes well. Good luck.
