Do you remember the last post on 8 June where I began having some real fun.
Well, that same evening when I got home I removed my shoes, got happy and jumped in my living room, catching the edge of my outer foot on the carpet, everting it and breaking the fifth metatarsal right below the pinkie toe. I did not think it was broken until the next day when placing weight on it was a little uncomfortable. I went to my doctor who placed me in a boot and told me in 6 weeks it would be healed.
Six weeks later, he never even did an x-ray to check, he tells me to take the boot off. Stupid me, I trusted the man and took the boot off. Almost two weeks later, my new doc in FL tells me (after getting an x-ray to check the "healed" fx) that I need to be back in the boot!
Now, approximately 15 weeks post fracture…I AM STILL IN THIS GOSH FORSAKEN BOOT!!! I saw the x-ray last week and realized the lateral view x-ray still showed a non-healed fx. I was so mad, but figured maybe I was wrong…maybe it was healed and I just did not know what I was looking at so I waited. This Monday the doctor told me what I already figured out. I am going to be getting a CT of the foot to see how far the injury goes.
So far I have missed out on 15 weeks of running/jogging, tried as hard as I could to be good and take care of my foot so I would heal and pas de chance! I am so angry right now. I am planning on requesting a consult with a specialist. I would rather get surgical repair or whatever and get on with my life. This injury has been allowed to go on long enough!
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.
