Think I overdid it…maybe…
Well, today in the AM I got home from my third night shift (12h shifts). It was late, around 8:40 am or thereabouts. I got on the treadmill, did 30 minutes on level 6 and then started my regular workout. As I started the second set of the second exercise, I became nauseated and had to sit down and close my eyes. I think maybe I overdid it, being tired from a hectic shift and then running late to get home. I decided discretion may be the better part of valor and opted for stopping my workout, getting a cup of tea and going to bed.
I may need to get more rest. Too bad. I was so psyched about getting home to work out. Tonight is my 4th night and I will be going straight from this shift to a special stroke class going on from 7:30 am to 5 pm. It will mess up my schedule, but so worth it!

Sometimes your body will tell you when it needs the rest. And that is just as good for you as working out. You get too worn down and your body will not rcover as quickly. I know I don’t know a whole lot but I do know this. I hate cutting a workout short or missing one period, but if my body says no, then I have to say no. Then when I get back on it, I can go that much more. Good luck! and never give up.

Thanks. I have to agree with you. These night shifts are hard on my body and then I go and try to exact even more from it. I just got home from work and after more than 24 hours awake (had to go to a special stroke class) I think I will call it a day and restart tomorrow. Have a lovely evening.
