Ever get that feeling that some people just don’t like you. A bunch of us decided to go out and play some touch football. In high school, I was always the first girl picked because I was the "athletic" girl, the one you picked if you wanted to win. Well, 4 years later, I’m still that "athletic girl", only stronger and faster, so naturally I was the first girl picked. Well, it turns out that the guy who picked me first, well it turns out one of the girls I didn’t know was his girlfriend and she was really peeved he picked me first instead of her, I don’t think she cared too much for that. We ended up on the same team anyways, but she kind of glared at me the entire time we were playing, it made me feel kind of uncomfortable. I kind of didn’t want to turn my back to her, not that she scared me or anything. But there was just this vibe the whole time, made me nervous. The game just wasn’t as fun for me after that. It’s all that guy’s fault, I’m thinking he should have just picked her first so she wouldn’t be burning a hole in my back the whole time, as much as I love to win, winning isn’t everything. I don’t know why I got caught up in this, I hate drama and I hate getting caught in crap like this. Blech.

…had one of those days where you just felt blah? Where your mind just doesn’t feel like doing anything? I’m having one of those nights right now. It’s been a rough rough week and I just really wanted to stay home tonight and chill. You know, me time. Nothing on TV so what the heck I thought I’d log on and see what’s up since I’m not usually online on a Saturday night.
Anyways, hope everyone else is having a good nite. I myself am looking forward to hitting the hay soon and getting to the gym early tomorrow morning. Brrr it’s cold here in Chicago, darn that wind, can’t wait for Spring. Don’t forget about Daylight Savings time tonite everyone!

Just stopping by to see how things (and folks) are doing tonight. I’m getting ready tonight so we can drive down to St. Louis tomorrow, my dance team is competing at a regional collegiate dance competition. I have a few numbers I’ll be performing, I’m really proud of my individual lyrical jazz piece, I’ve been rehearsing all week (unfortunately I had to slack off at the gym this week)but for good reason - I have a real shot of winning this year. And my team, well let’s say I think we’re doing a few things that should surprise a few people. Well I guess I better get packing. Everyone have a great weekend!

As I left the gym today I was thinking about how working out has become such an integral part of my life… I absolutely love it. Some days I just get so stressed out or my boyfriend just makes me so mad that I go to the gym to vent my frustrations. It’s ironic to think that it’s partly because my boyfriend’s pissed me off so much that I’m in such great shape. You can’t beat the feeling of power you get from pushing heavy weights or setting max resistance on the stairmaster, you get so focused and everything else just melts away. And then there’s that feeling of being so exhausted that you can barely drive your car home (I like it because then I know I’m probably getting a little bit stronger.)
I’m still amazed by how much my body has changed over the last few years. It’s funny that some of my girlfriends still think that lifting weights will make them look like Popeye. Take a look at my pictures, I’ve definitely got muscles and I’m strong as an ox, but you’d never ever mistake me for a guy. I’m told that I actually look even more feminine, I like to say I’m just exuding a buff sexiness (my bf always laughs when I say that). To all those naysayers, I’m living proof that a woman can be buff and hot at the same time, they’re not mutually exclusive- ask my boyfriend if you don’t agree.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. I wanted to wish everyone a happy New Years!
Just got back from time with the family (i love them to death) and a weekend in Florida, where my dance team did some performances, it was great. My bf got a great shot of me on the beach doing my thing.
Looking forward to getting back to business in the next few days, look out world, Maddy is back!

Sorry I’ve been gone for so long, I’ve been totally swamped since right before Thanksgiving- choreographing and practicing with the dance team, turning in applications for transferring, school projects, school presenations, and more school projects. I have more or less been able to keep working out through all this and I’m happy to say my diet has been pretty clean, I just haven’t been able to keep up with my fitness routine as of late, but I’ll be back to doing cartwheels and handstands this coming week. Whee!!
I finished taking my last final on Thursday and am looking forward to some relaxation, which is to say, spending more time in the gym. I’m especially looking forward to my dance team’s trip to California right after Christmas, should be fun.
Heading off to a Christmas party, gotta pick up something for the white elephant gift exchange, later gators!

I ran in a charity 5k run this morning, it was really cold and miserable but hey it’s for charity and I was running with my boyfriend and a few of his friends. The race pretty much was running around the campus twice or something like that. I completed the race in 22:07, not quite the goal of 22:00 I set for myself, but pretty good nonetheless- still good for 17th place and I did beat my boyfriend. HEHEHEH. Just an FYI, back to the grindstone for me. Got finals to study for. Later.

I had my session for the Women’s Workout World campaign today, the photographers were really wonderful. It only took an hour or so and they were very very nice. My personal favorite (and the one they’re most likely to use) is the one where I’m posing in a simple pink leotard, it’s for a poster I think, but I look fabulous. There’s this other one where you just see my legs, different leo. And they even let me keep all the leos they brought for me to use. And I got paid too, what a deal! I’ll post the picture when I get it, maybe even use it as my new profile pic! Looking forward to seeing it in print!

Turns out someone saw me perform this last weekend and was impressed enough to ask if I was interested in doing a little model work for Women’s Workout World. I’d be one of the "in shape" girls they use for ads and mailings, and I might even be used in the "you can have a body like this" posters they put up in gyms, etc. The photo session would be this coming weekend and it would be a paid gig. Show off my body and get paid for it? What girl in her right mind would say no?
Far be it for me to deny the world the chance to see my rockin’ body. It should be exciting, and just another one of the great things I’ve gotten just for having a great body. All those hours in the gym really have paid off.
