Some inspiring words

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

I just got to work this morning and went into the break room, I guess you can call it, and I was fixing my daily cup of green tea. A co-worker of mine was standing next to the coffee brewer and said “Hey man, I’m going to tell you something that I feel that you need to know.” I said ok what’s up. He then went on “ You know, I’ve seen a lot of cat’s go through the same thing you’re going through with workingout and buying all of these supplements and going crazy with them.”

I figured he was going to give me some type of speech about drinking too much protein or creatine or something. He started to say “You need to stick to what you’re doing no matter what. The wife might argue with you about you looking good and workingout and buying all of the supplements that you take and shiet like that.” He went on to say “Bro, do this for yourself. Do not do it for anyone else. Your family needs to understand that what you are doing is for yourself and you are bettering yourself for many years to come. Your kids see what you’re doing and 5-10 years from now, they will understand why you are doing what you’re doing”. He had my full, undivided attention.

“I’ve seen a lot of cats stop doing what you’re doing because they listened to their family. They dropped everything, stopped taking supplements and paid more attention to the ones they loved and forgot what they used to do. Forgot about their own goals in life. Forgot about doing the thing that they loved the most.” Then he told me about how his daughter had all these applications for school grants and failed to complete and submit them. That’s when it hit me. Wow! This guy is going through some crisis. This is when he told me that he is going through a crisis. He was telling me about how he could have worked on his degree but choose to put it off and also told me how he always took care of others and not himself. He put off everything until his daughter was born. He kept putting it off until he noticed that it was 15yrs later and no degree for himself.

Moral of the story: stick to your guns. There will be bumps along the road and there will also be detours. No matter what, keep doing what you are doing. Whether it be bodybuilding, powerlifting, school, saving money for that car or gym set that you want. Whatever the case, do yourself a favor and be selfish for at least that one thing that you love.

Man I felt like shiet yesterday. I didn’t have a good nights rest either. I went to work up until 11am and I called it quits. I felt naseau, headache and I believe that I had a inside fever. My eyes got red and I felt the heat coming from them. And on top of that, I felt weak. I had a hard time driving back home. I slept practically all day. Drank some chicken soup, took a shower, popped a few tylenols and rested. I feel great today though. It must have been a 24 hr bug or something. All I’m saying is BALLS TO THE WALL training today. Gotta make up for yesterday. The wife doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Oh well.

Talk about a guilt trip…

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

I’m taking off of work early today to volunteer some hours at my daughter’s school. Initially I was to just come to work and take off at my normal lunch time, 11am, and then hit the gym until about 12pm or a little after 12, depending on how my workout goes. This morning the wifey busts out with "well I need to do laundry, so Im gonna have to take you to work and pick you up later" then she asked why I am taking my gym bag if I’m taking off early. I then respond "well it is back day and I need to work on my back" She says "damn you can’t go one day without working out?" I say "I do, on the weekends when I take a rest from the brutal beating I put my body through from the weeks workout" Then she’s like "ugh, I don’t know why you just can’t take one f*cking day off damn it. you’re to obsessed" If I was at home when she said this, I would have shown her pics and vids of Jay Cutler, Ronnie Coleman etc. But then I came back with…"Well let’s see you go one full day, 24 hrs, without a cigarette." She then busts out with, I’m not gonna be done by 11am to pick you up anyway so it doesn’t matter". Dudes I f*cking insisted on taking the day off from the gym and was going to take her cigg’s to see if she could make it all day, 24 hrs, without a cancer stick. See how the tides have suddenly turned. I hate it when she does that.

Supp’s and other stuff

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Well I have officially ran out of supp’s and am in limbo as to what to do until I get paid. My workout did not feel right today since I have not taken my daily Animal Pak and my daily protein shake. It sucks right now. It may be a few weeks until I get any supp’s period. Well I am going to have to learn how to adapt until then which got me to thinking about how these dudes did it back in the day when there were no supps, no multi’s and no protein shakes.

Well I guess I will be eating alot of chicken breasts and turkey until then. I’ll possibly hook up with some tilapia or something. I need to learn to eat fish, which I see as a challenge since the fish smell REALLY bothers me. If anyone reading this has an suggestions as to what I could eat, please message me, email me or whatever.

I was thinking about getting me some more animal pak, of course, and stacking it with animal cuts. I really need to get my metabolism going. A friend of mine talks about how his metabolism goes crazy after eating. Man I wish I was like that. Of the past 4-6 months of training, I believe that I have only felt like that a few times, especially after a nice swim in the pool. The weather is getting cold down here in Miami Fl which is keeping me from swimming, something I actually in enjoy as far as cardio.
