Soreness - suggestions?
So I did the first leg day with the new routine on Tuesday. By the time i left the gym I was feeling it. Yesterday I was really sore but still could walk normal, etc. I played a soccer game last night, the full game cuz we had no subs and my shot was just not as strong as usual. Still scored 3 goals though
Today I’m not kidding you - I feel like I have something huge stuck up my @$$. I can barely walk because I have gluts, quads and hammies all sore everytime I move. People are work were like "what’s wrong are you ok" I’m like, yea I just can’t walk. MY legs haven’t hurt this bad since the VERY first leg day I did about 10 weeks ago. Probably just the change in routine but how do I make it stop? Leg press, single leg squats, curls, extension, reverse standing lunges. It’s brutal!
I seriously can barely walk and I have volleyball tonight so I need to figure out how to fix this before 9:15 tonight. It’s a good sore though, not a sore like I pulled stuff. It’s just overpowering.
Any suggestions?! HELP!

Take vit C & E. Eat cottage cheese or take casein protein before bed. Hope you feel better.

lol…i don’t think there’s any ‘fixing’ it per se…..my only suggestion would be do some light cardio to try and get the lactic acid moving out of there….hopefully that helps….my legs are still sore from monday….couldn’t really do stairs yesterday…it happens lol

Ditto. Some stretching, light cardio, slow & easy squats & lunges without weight. The worst thing to do is to get planted in a chair & not move……that will prolong the soreness & stiffness.

Only 3 goals?? Soccer studette. HAT TRICK, do they call it that in soccer? I agree with the rest on the ideas for handling that soreness.

Like they said, stretching and protein.
Before volleyball tonight, spend about 10 minutes loosening up your legs by jogging on a treadmill or something else that will force them to move a lot.
It will be excruciating at first, but they’ll loosen up fairly quickly, and they’ll stay that way as long as you keep moving.

I agree with everyone else, stretch s l o w l y and do some light cardio. It’s brutal but once you get going, you’ll feel better. Definitely do not forget the casein (cottage cheese) before bed. Some glutamine might help also.
