I was working out the other day when my 11yr old son noticed my abs and said, "holy crap, you have a 6 pack". Felt so good to hear. I’m not lean enough yet to truly see them and still need more definition on the lower abs but they are there to feel and coming out to the eye. I think the best compliments you can get are from your kids because they’ll tell you like it is. He has no problem telling me that my rear needs work lol and I know it does; but it doesn’t bother me to hear that cause I know it’s true. I can’t wait for the day when he thinks all of me looks awesome. Something to look forward to and to work hard for:-)

Happy training all!

Tomorrow, May 31st is the local and regional bodybuilding/figure/fitness competition. I am attending the shows and this will be the first time that I see this in person. I can’t wait to see what it’s all about; how fit they are, tanned, big or small and how many competitors will be there. It will give me a good idea of where I need to be to get started in this business. This website is great but everyone is a different size here with different goals. Turns out that my neighbor is a personal trainer and competitor. She is actually a judge in tomorrow’s event. Sounds like it’s time to really get to know my neighbors lol I will be back tomorrow to right about my thoughts on the competition.

I’ve been thinking about trying a spin class for a while but was never brave enough and fear kept me away; until this morning. I decided to face my fears and jump right in. Considering I haven’t even taking out my own bike for a ride yet this spring, I think I did well. It was 1hr long but it amazingly went by fast. I survived the whole 1hr but started to slow down the last 15 minutes or so. That is a hell of a cardio workout. I had no idea that my body could sweat that much lol. I loved it and got such a high from the class. The only downside if you want to call it that is the sore ass factor. OMG those seats are hard, but they tell me it gets better. I’m pumped now and can’t wait for next time.

I’ve kind of been in a slump lately, which basically started when I got sick and it completely through off my routine. It’s so easy to become lazy and just give in to temptation. I just seem to love ‘bad’ food. I know it’s making me fat and sometimes I just don’t care. But today I went out to my son’s basketball tournament and felt re-energized. He plays for the school team, which is a combination of grades 5 & 6; he’s in 5. He’s so naturally athletic and they play hard, had fun and got the bronze. They were excited and so was I. Our winter is finally starting to melt away so we spent most of the afternoon playing ball outside and it felt amazing to be outside and getting exercise. I feel alive again. It feels so much better to do that, than do sit around on my ass and stuff my face. Hope to post new pics soon, with some improvements. congrats to all who are working so hard, you are reaping the rewards..keep it up

I usually have good days, where I workout and eat clean without any problems. Then there are other days, especially when I get stressed, that I return to old habits and eat everything in site; more chocolate the better. I really hate these days and wish I could just overcome this and turn to something else instead of food. I would love to have a hard, well defined body someday and compete so I guess I really need to focus on that and hit the gym instead of the food.

Here’s a little about me and my life. I am a wife, a mother to 3 boys, aged 10, 7, and 3yrs, and a nurse. I have always had a competitive spirit and loved fitness; however, was not always motivated, especially after having my 3rd little boy. I was busy with school, part time job and family. I just didn’t want to exercise or take the time to eat healthy. With that I gained 10lbs in 2007; not a good year for me. But all of that changed a little over a month ago when I said enough is enough. I changed my bad habits and starting preparing and eating healthy foods. I also started training 6 days per week, following a routine that I’ve gotten my one of my Oxygen magazines, which incorporates weights, cardio, and resistance strength training. I’ve lost 10lbs in the past month and have really increased my energy. I’m working toward having a body for figure competitions. I know that it won’t be easy but I’m determined to make it happen. Will post pictures soon of my progression. Keep and eye out for me!
