Runner's High
You know when you have one of those slow days at work where all ya wanna do is get your butt outta there and over to the gym? That's every day, right!? Well, today was one of those days, and it was shoulder day. I love shoulder day, but it's pretty much the only day of my split that doesn't completely wipe me out. So it's a great day for post-workout cardio, natch. And man was there some cardio done today. I got a spot on a treadmill which is basically right in front of a long row of ellipticals and crosstrainers used by cardio-bunnies. And that pretty much set the stage for an awesome cardio session. I mean, who can resist competing a little with the people on the machines around you, and ESPECIALLY if they're the one-pace, not too fast, one damn long hour of cardio-type competition. I have nothing against them, but it's motivating! Get my rear in gear and do a solid 25 minutes of HIIT sprinting and all the time I'm thinking about how FUN this is! I mean, seriously, when did running become FUN? :D
But I'm glad it is!

I HATE the long slow BORING eternal steady-state cardio. Give me HIIT anyday. Gets cardio agony over with. Way to go.
Cardio bunnies must be expensive for gyms. All them hours of running that machine.
