Beginner No More!
I started training in August and have been doing it pretty consistently throughout this year. I was on vacay in Florida and went to the gym to burn off a little fat :P As fate would have it, I met this amazingly fit 70-something woman working out there who looked like she couldn't have been more than a day over 55. And of course she was lifting weights. I would honestly say that that was the catalyst that led me on this awesome path of discovery over the course of the past almost-year. And it wasn't so much her level of fitness - she WAS rockin it. But she had so much joy in her face, in the way she interacted with us (my bf was there), there was something magical about it! And I wanted a piece of that joy, that healthy happiness that comes from honoring yourself and taking excellent care of your body.
Now trust, I was never an athletic kid. But after my first weight lifting session, I could feel those endorphins and I knew I was going to be coming back for more. I started with Jamie Eason's LiveFit. It was pretty much the first thing I saw that seemed guided enough for a green leaf like me. Those first couples of weeks I started, I thought I would never get to the point where I could do weights and cardio on the same day!
It's hard to believe how much progress I've made since then and it's only been 7 months! And I know this is only the beginning. But as I sit back and nurse my DOMS from yesterday's INTENSE back/bi/abs workout, I smile knowing what completing a split like that means. It means I'm not a beginner at this anymore!
Here's to awesome beginnings and future successes!
Oooh ooh ooh! And I thought I would share my all-time favorite motivational video for yall to commemorate:
And heres to us being that 70 plus fit chick one day! Very inspiring blog, well done girl! :)
Ditto! Not with being a 70 yr woman, but for an inspirational blog. :-)

GREAT POST. At 50, I can honestly say that I'm in better health and fitness than I was at 25. And while I know I will begin a decline at some point, I plan to be busting out workout for decades to come.
