Rant about rude people

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

In other news- I am having problems at the new GM at Golds.  This guy does NOT have good personal service skills.  He is so bad, people avoid him.  I don’t know if he knows how rude he comes off when talking to people- but members are not going to stick around if this guy is running the place.

BF and I signed up before he came on, and got a lower rate.  Somehow, the financial company combined our payments together and put them on one card instead of splitting the payments to each of our accounts.  The GM said if he had to change the paperwork, then he would have to up the rates on us to the "current rates".

He said "you are making a big deal over 3 dollars and I don’t know whats going on- maybe you and your boyfriend are having problems or what…."

Ok talk about pissed off.  I was livid.  That was NOT professional at all and as a GM he shouldn’t be making a comment like that to a member.  I was like well actually a$$hole, my boyfriend and I are fine, we don’t live together and won’t be doing that till marriage.  Therefore, we don’t want finances combined just yet. Not to mention, that’s none of your damn business!

Ok, I feel better.  I didn’t say that.  But I am calling corporate and I am going to rally all the senior citizens together to do the same.  I saw him be completely rude to one of them before her aquatics class.  They have a lot of leverage over that gym because they have been members for so long and they are all friends.

If I have to leave because of this guy, I am taking people with me.  Personal service makes gym.  And a friendly staff, keep members around.

Turtle Story over Thanksgiving

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

Well, I have an odd story to tell everyone.  It seems I have a mystery creature in my backyard.  I have box turtles- 4 full grown turtles and 5 baby box turtles.  I checked on them the other day because it is starting to get cold and they hibernate.   Everything was cool.

I go back out there the other day and the baby turtles are completely missing from their section of the "turtle sanctuary".  I thought they might be able to get out from that section, but unlikely.  We have never had predators in our backyard and turtles have lived in our backyard for 10 years and never bothered.  Whatever it was, I thought it would ignore my big turtles because they were already buried for winter.

I checked the big ones this morning and my big turtles were all over the place.  Two of my turtles had been chewed on, but luckily no shell punctures.  One might have to get antibiotics tomorrow though.  Can you believe that?  Turtle antibiotics.  My family is weird about pets though.  We had a large rabbit that thought it was a dog once.  His name was Mr. Bunny.  :)

Anyway, I need Fern (MsFitness) to head over here with her car and take care of this mystery creature.  She has a history with creatures- just check her blog.  She’s hilarious. Pest control on wheels.

I am excited to start blogging for the Fit N Lean stack!  Can’t wait to see the changes with these supps.  I need to go food shopping.  The fridge is filled with stuff from thanksgiving.  and its not all healthy….  ;)

Sore legs!

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

So my leg workout must have worked.  :)   I like having DOMS.  I’m still sticking with the higher reps for my legs.  I hope that works for me.  Don’t need a lot of muscle there right now, I just want to work on decreasing bodyfat so my definition comes in.

On another note, it is still to warm here in Texas.  I want to start listening to Christmas music, but it doesn’t feel right.  :\ Well, I guess I should write my paper.

Saturday Mornings

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

And I am up… of course- I would rather be sleeping!  I have to teach a Pilates class at 9 am, but it takes awhile to get there, and then I can’t forget to pack food…  So I am usually up by 6:45am.  Ugh.

Need to log my leg workout from yesterday.  Felt like it was pretty good.  I kept yawning though and felt fatigued!  It was really annoying.  I am trying to stay away from any extra caffine during the day.  I want to be off anything and everything (not that I take anything but caffine right now) before I start with the Gaspari stuff.

Can’t wait for that stuff! ;)

Happy Halloween!

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Now everyone remember to trick or treat safely.  Don’t eat unwrapped candy, use the buddy system!

I just hope my night class gets out earlier- I want to see the kiddies and their costumes!

Getting up tomorrow to do cardio instead of today.  Had to finish my essay this morning.  Ugh!

alright…

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

So.  I talk to some guy at 24 hr this afternoon.  I told him I would come by later to work out on a guest pass.  I call him before I am heading up there… about 7:30 tonight.  I get there with BF at 7:55.  It takes 10 minutes to get there anyway.

AND they are closing!  WTF.  I cannot find a good gym around here.  Golds does all this 2 yr contract stuff up front.  Lifetime is expensive (esp. sign up fees- $220 Please!), and now 24 hour Fitness closes at 8 pm.  I don’t even want to go back there tomorrow morning.
The next one on the list is Bally’s.  And that one doesn’t have good hours either.  Does anyone drive 18 minutes to their gym?  :\

Gyms and Training at home

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Now that I am back into lifting (had my break for the end of the summer), I am considering a gym membership again.  I work for a fitness company already, but the gym is too far away from my house for daily workouts etc.

Training at home isn’t bad, but it isn’t necessarily good.  I need to add to my weight collection- and it would mostly be dumbbells.  I also need some sort of cardio machine.  Winter (ha! winter in texas…) is approaching and that usually means icky weather.  I can’t run outside- knees too bad, and my best bet is cardio on a machine of some sort.

I have considered buying my own cardio machine before.  My parents would like a Bowflex treadclimber- it is the only one that would fit in our small house.  I would like to help them with payments, but I could only do that if I didn’t get a gym membership.

I don’t know- I will try a week pass at 24, and then decide what might work best for me.  It will be $37 a month, and to sign up will be a total of $110.  That includes a $30 sign up (student discount), first and last month payments.

Ugh.  Any thoughts?
