alright…

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

So.  I talk to some guy at 24 hr this afternoon.  I told him I would come by later to work out on a guest pass.  I call him before I am heading up there… about 7:30 tonight.  I get there with BF at 7:55.  It takes 10 minutes to get there anyway.

AND they are closing!  WTF.  I cannot find a good gym around here.  Golds does all this 2 yr contract stuff up front.  Lifetime is expensive (esp. sign up fees- $220 Please!), and now 24 hour Fitness closes at 8 pm.  I don’t even want to go back there tomorrow morning.
The next one on the list is Bally’s.  And that one doesn’t have good hours either.  Does anyone drive 18 minutes to their gym?  :\

Gyms and Training at home

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Now that I am back into lifting (had my break for the end of the summer), I am considering a gym membership again.  I work for a fitness company already, but the gym is too far away from my house for daily workouts etc.

Training at home isn’t bad, but it isn’t necessarily good.  I need to add to my weight collection- and it would mostly be dumbbells.  I also need some sort of cardio machine.  Winter (ha! winter in texas…) is approaching and that usually means icky weather.  I can’t run outside- knees too bad, and my best bet is cardio on a machine of some sort.

I have considered buying my own cardio machine before.  My parents would like a Bowflex treadclimber- it is the only one that would fit in our small house.  I would like to help them with payments, but I could only do that if I didn’t get a gym membership.

I don’t know- I will try a week pass at 24, and then decide what might work best for me.  It will be $37 a month, and to sign up will be a total of $110.  That includes a $30 sign up (student discount), first and last month payments.

Ugh.  Any thoughts?

Today’s nutrition!

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Well, I am back into it.  I take a break, get back into it, take a break… etc.  I am trying to be more consistent.  Otherwise, I will never see results.

I don’t have time to log everything today.  Maybe I’ll get a chance later.

M1: banana and 1/4 low fat ricotta
M2: omlette with veggies, 1/4c black beans, 1 low carb tortilla
M3: Oats with protein powder
M4: 1.2c CC and 55g quinoa
M5: 3.5oz Turkey ball with basil pesto, green beans, and 1/2 basmati rice

I hope that lasts me for the day!  Today I am at school all day, studying and going to classes.  I literally don’t get home until about 9 if I am lucky.  And I don’t get to work out :(   I didn’t get a chance to this morning- so its that or nothing at all.  I am planning on a workout tomorrow after work.  Wed and Thurs are my longest days!
