Finished up my back and triceps workout, which was alright except for a pain in my neck. No big deal, I think. Anyway, the diet is very tight and I’ve lost another 3 lbs. So that’s 17 1/2 lbs since Jan 1st. I am feeling good about the Muscle Tech contest. At least, I won’t embarass myself.

I had a nice workout today. The best in a couple of weeks. I trained chest and biceps plus interval cardio. Even though the diet is going well, I decided that I needed to ramp-up the training end of things. On paper, it is not that different, but I’m trying to bring the right mindset to the workout. Half assing it through a workout is a waste of time. I should know. I’ve done my share of it.

I really tightened-up my diet and I’m please with the results. I’ve dropped another 4 1/2 lbs, which brings my total weight loss since Jan 1st to 14 1/2 lbs. I haven’t really made any adjustments to my training and I’ve been consistent with it, but I have to say that diet is really the key. I’ll be posting new progress pics at the beginning of April.

Today was a nice leg workout. 20 reps for squats with 235, which sucks, but is ok for me. Lunges, thigh extensions, leg curls and calf raises. Nothing fancy. Need to get stronger.
I’ve been pretty strict with my diet, but will be ramping it up starting Thursday. I need to lose more fat for the Muscle Tech contest.

I have missed a few blog posts, but haven’t missed any workouts. I lifted and did cardio today. I hit back and chest plus did 45 minutes on the treadmill. I think I am going to keep the cardio up because I am still carrying way too much fat. Since I lift 4 days per week, I will just follow it up with cardio. I am hopeful that this will do the trick.

Although I did not lift today, I did cardio and Muay Thai. I feel pretty good getting the two workouts in one day. Tomorrow is cardio in the morning and BJJ at night.
I’ve been upped my carb intake for days where I am doing cardio and BJJ or Muay Thai. I didn’t have the energy to make it through a class after doing cardio without some carbs. Hopefully, this doesn’t throw me too off.

I just finished up some cardio, which is a rarity for me. I’ve avoided it, probably for too long. I’m looking to start adding three cardio sessions a week. Hopefully that will kick start the additional fat loss I’m looking for. I’ve got a BJJ class tonight so I’ll definitely burn some extra calories.

Just finished-up my leg workout. I tried something new. 20 rep squats, which is fairly tough I must say. I did 230lbs for 20 reps and thought I was going to fall over. However, after looking at my progress pics I realized that some of the low rep training I was doing, particularly for legs, was probably not stoking my metabolism. I’m going to add complexes to my training routine as well.

I posted some progress pics after 1 1/2 months. I really didn’t feel up to it, but I had promised myself that it was the only way to gauge my progress. I’ve lost 10 lbs, although most of it came off early on. The pictures don’t lie and I have plenty of work to do by May 7th. I really have to up my cardio. One month from now I’ll take more progress pics. Hopefully, I show more improvement.
Today is leg day, which I have a love/hate relaionship with.

Trained back and light triceps today. Nothing fancy, just plenty of rows and pulldowns for back. I had to drop dumbell rows in favor of barbell rows because of my forearm injury. For some reason a pronated grip does not irritate it. I should not have trained triceps since I had just hit them on Thursday. They were noticeably weaker. I should have left more time to recover.
Found my camera, so I’ll be uploading some pics tomorrow.
