Here we go again.

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Well, it is that time to start all over.  Try to put a horrible year behind me and get back to the gym.  I have to harness the anger that has built up and take it out on the weights.  I’m hoping the motivation of the Muscletech challenge will help.  To all of you doing the Muscletech challenge also, good luck with it.

Fell off the wagon.

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Well, after making some great strides forward, I got layed off and screwed up a lot of my hard work.  I am hoping to get back on the wagon and get headed back into the right direction.  Wish me luck, hopefully will have some better news in the near future.

Improvements.

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

Alright, I may not see it, but I know the weight is coming off.  I had to tighten my duty belt, I took off my keepers to get ready to go home and the belt slipped past my hips.  You add to that I played basketball today, and was able to touch the rim again, something I havn’t done in a couple of years now.  I’m on my way, still want to be 280 by the Arnold Classic at the end of the month, but it may be an unreasonable goal.  I am keeping optimistic that I will be able to get back down to 225-235 range.  Wish me luck on my endeavor.  Thanks to all my friends here for the support as I go along.  And one last thing,  GOOD COP, NO DONUTS.

Three weeks in.

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

I didn’t think I could do it, but after three weeks of my challenge, I am down 11 pounds.  All of this has come with just diet, I attempted a workout and pulled my back on my first set of squats.  I am hoping to get back to it this week and make some better strides to my desired 270 by the end of this thing.  The fact that I am under 300 is no small feat for me, who has been over 300 for almost two years now.  That is not something I am real proud of.  I am hoping to be 280 by the Arnold Classic in Columbus.  20 pounds, 4.5 weeks, very possible if I push myself.  Until later, good luck to all of my friends undergoing the same journey.

The 911 Fitness Challenge Begins.

Monday, January 7th, 2008

O.k., I got weighed in for my fitness challenge today, 310.5lbs and 29% body fat.  I’m really geared up like I have never been geared up for a diet before.  I am really interested to see how things go over the next 12 weeks.  I would like to lose 40lbs over the course of the challenge.  Roughly 3lbs a week which I feel is a very reasonable goal.  For a stretch goal, I want to see 260lbs.  I think I can do it if I really bust my hump.  I know my team won’t win the challenge, but it’s a win as long as I can drop this horrible gut and chest.  Take care, will catch you all later.

I hate the holidays.

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

O.k., didn’t get it done over the holidays.  I consider it a win though that I only gained 1lb back.  I didn’t eat a ton, but I didn’t get any workouts in either.  I’m eager to get going again.  Let me say that this site is great.  I have found many friends that keep checking in on me and keeping me motivated.  Thanks all, I’m hoping for a  great 2008.

The challenge begins January 14, 2008.

Saturday, December 15th, 2007

Alrighty, I have joined the 2008, 911 fitness challenge.  This is a weight loss challenge for emergency response personnel and military.  The goal is for a team to lose the most weight and gain the most muscle per region.  www.911fitness.com  My team is aiming for the goal of a trip to vegas and the chance to receive our prize inside of the UFC octagon.  I am hoping that even if we do not win, the network of friends here on bb.com and also my teammates, will assist me in making great advances towards my own personal goal.  My thanks and kudos to my bb.com friend fadeawayJ23 who’s bodyblog and forum keep me going when I start feeling lazy.

To all who read this, keep up the great work and feel free to say hi anytime you like.  We are all here for our own greater good.

My parting message -  if you ever have a bad diet day or bad training day, remember this quote.

OUR GREATEST GLORY IS NOT IN NEVER FALLING, BUT RISING EVERY TIME WE FALL.

Illness drops a couple of pounds.

Saturday, December 8th, 2007

Thanks to tlcinwdm and soccershoe for the kind words.  I weighed in at 315 today, it is amazing what being under the weather can do even if it was only water weight.  I have been feeling horrible since my initial post, being in bed for about 90% of the past few days.  I have a Christmas party I am obligated to go to tonight where there will be only Italian food.  I figure this will give a good end to an unhealthy diet.  I plan to be back on the weights tomorrow and have my system back up and running.  Hopefully I have some good news by next weekend.

And so it begins.

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

O.k., it is time for me to get my fat ass back into shape.  It has been a long time since I have been at an acceptable weight and the time is now to begin working to get back there.  I have reached an all time high of 320 lbs and I can’t stand to look at myself in the mirror any more.  Let us hope and pray that I will be able to be successful on this most difficult of journeys.  I will be entering the 911 fitness challenge in January and hope to be able to drop at least 30 lbs over the course of  the 3 month competition.  Looks like I’ll have to learn to lay off of the donuts.

Welcome!
