I am SOOO lame about getting here … ok, no more of that !! I am GOING to do better ….. Luckily, my workouts are not slacking and my eats are good … gonna get better, though !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG - I discovered a new class - like Cross-Fit … kicked my butt … going back for more today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was better at keeping up with blogging and such !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! … WTH ?? .. well … let’s see  … my kids got sick, my hubby got sick, I got sick .. we had Halloween, my youngest’s birthday and party .. .I started my personal training business, found a studio to train out of, started a bunch of marketing and getting cards and such, umm … yeah, worked out, kept eating right - NO Halloween candy- NO birthday cake or ice cream - NO wine or any drinkies for over four weeks - since MY b-day … WOW !!!!@ … I rock !!!! bahaha … !!!!!!!

 

So, what are you guys up to ????? .. Still rocking along ???? OF COURSE !!!!!!!!!!

I forgot that I am not supposed to be weighing myself … it’s just that other indicators were NOT good and so I guess I wanted confirmation that I was going in the wrong direction ???? Makes no sense, heehee …!!!

 

Ok, so, … no diet sodas in over 24 hours .. no gum …. have ordered a new protein powder without any artificial sweetners .. .ugh .. hard !!

Well, I feel like I have nothing to say .. because there is just not much happening  …  one kid was kinda sick, now he is better and the other one is sick - I feel like I am trying to get it  … don’t want to be sick for Halloween !!!!

As for me … I am kinda mopey …. I feel like I am getting nowhere - lost about 4 pounds, gained 2 back and I don’t know why - not TOM, no change in food, and if anything, doing MORE with the workouts - maybe too much ???? … cortisol … fluid retention …  I am lifting 3-4 days per week and have my Krav class 1-2 days  … a few random cardio sessions …

grrr……. the only other thing (there’s always something ..!!) .. is that I fell back into the diet soda trap … so maybe the bloat-city and retaining water is from that .. plus, I think my liver does not like the toxins (aka poison) in artificial sweetners ….. soooo … once again, the lightbulb moment for me ….

gotta get on it !!!

I am neither LOL … not too short, anyway at 5′6" .. kinda in the middle !! …. and, like I said before, I am just not known for holding my tongue, so there !

Not much new here, did legs yesterday, planning on UB today - and HIIT of some kind … at some point in my life, I would like to be able to do a real pull-up, so I better get on it :)

this is obviously still bugging me from yesterday … I was trying to be positive in my blog post yesterday, but .. .I am still torqued, so, I thought I would share .. this guy was offensive on SO many levels !!!

I’m just sayin’ ….
Thursday I was at the gym with my friend Carol - doing an upper-body workout that consisted of corner BB presses, T-bar rows, pull-ups, and DB shoulder presses … 

Well, we were into the pull-ups (still assisted, sorry !) and one of the trainers walked over .. yep, gotta throw your oar in, buddy … “hey, I bet you can do those without an assistance” (uh, no, I am still working on that …) … “well, can I show you a few things ??” … (sure, I’ll play along … why not ?) … so, he interrupted a perfectly good upper-body workout to show me some core work - uh, ok, cool …. and then asked if I would like to meet him on Saturday for a full workout … (sure, OK, … I had planned to go to my Krav Maga class .. but, whatever …)

Here’s where I made the mistake … agreeing to it !! He knows I’m a trainer, I’ve told him I am not buying his program, so what’s the point !!!???

So, I get the babysitter lined up (DH was out of town with older son on a camping trip) and do some power yoga early in the AM and head off to the gym to be there at 9:30 .. and of course, he is not at the desk and walked by with a client - I looked at him and said hello, and of course, he got the “deer in headlights” .. oh yeah … DUH ! … Not a good start … He told me to go ahead and warm up (trainer speak for ‘I forgot you were coming - umm, let me figure this out!) …”I’m warm … I’ll wait !”

So, after he settled the client on the treadmill, he “demonstrated” some core work .. again …. and then I did lunges the length of the gym with the medicine ball, twisting to one side and then the other … And then he said (I swear) …”what do you think about some Reebok?” … it was a “huh?” moment … “Excuse me ? You mean the step ?” … yeah, he meant the step .. with dumbbells ….. I told him what I thought of the Reebok Step, “It’s gay …” Weeeelll, he told me, “I think our trainers have the best bodies out there (was he including himself?) and they all use it” …. HUH ??? ….

By now, things were getting a little … constrained …. he said, well, I can tell you are not having a great day, so let’s just call it a day ….

OMG …. I am not know for holding my tongue, so I didn’t ….
“I WAS having a GREAT day until now … You just wasted my time … I could have been doing something else …” … And I also pointed out to him that he NEVER ever asked me what my goals were … he said, (I swear) “well, I just assumed that you wanted to do core work …” …. 

HUH ????? Dude, I am a 44 year-old skinny-fat girl who DESPARATELY needs to build muscle … WHY would you assume that I wanted to do core work ????? … The last thing I need is a bunch of little weights and the Step !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rant … Rant …Rant … I just said whatever, and have a nice day … and marched myself off to the free weights, where I proceeded to have a great HEAVY workout !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a quick update … did some power yoga this AM with a friend and then off to the gym for a mix-match … lunges and core work then heavy upper body :) … woohooo !! … Have a great weekend !!

Made it back to my Krav Maga class … honestly it was the fear of coming back here and having NOT gone LOL … nah, it was GREAT and I am sooo glad I went !!! … going back Saturday … it is SUCH a killer workout (even though I was sucking wind the first 10 minutes!!) .. no need for the treadmill to get my intervals done !!

Ok, so I am a glutton for punishment and cannot just throw the scale away … almost 3 pounds gone since my "restart" on 9/28 WOOHOO ! … getting back to where I was this summer before I let a bad attitude take me away  … but no more pity party there - can’t look back, gotta look forward ! …  I had a great birthday weekend, had some yummy food, nothing overboard, nothing too extreme (except the tattoo) so I am feeling ON TRACK this week !!!!!!!!!!!!! ….

 Monday was upper body

Today was lower body and bike intervals

Tomorrow … krav maga ….

Yeah, I know it’s only Friday but we are going out of town tomorrow, just an overnight, back Sunday afternoon :)

So, my week was pretty good … I hit all my little weekly goals (4 weight w/o, 2 HIIT)  … Miniscule, really, compared to what I used to be able to do last summer .. but I will get back there - strength and endurance is coming back, now if I could get the scale weight to reflect my efforts LOL !!

Yeah, I know … it’s a machine and I should not let it dictate my life …. my "measuring clothes" DO fit better (not perfect, … YET … LOL !! ) and I feel better ..so, maybe it’s fluid (TMI, sorry …)

 

Ok, next week’s goals - just gonna go ahead and put it out there ….. I was taking this Krav Maga class last spring and when summer started and the kids schedules changed, I did not have child care for the time slot I needed, so … I kinda stopped going .. ok, I just stopped going … I have not been since May … grrrr…… SO …. My goal for next week - I WILL GO TO THE KRAV CLASS … I will grovel and then I will totally start over and be dying and about to puke ….. if you are totally mystified by what I am talking about, check this out :)
