The Holidays and Keeping Those Workouts! Yes!
Sunday, November 30th, 2008Yes, my dear friends… the holidays are upon us!
Let’s make this next month count!
I just came back from Disneyworld and whoah….. that is enough to keep you working out. I mean, seeing all the unfit people walking around eating funnel cakes, ice cream, burgers, fries… you name it. Nothing wrong with eating that once in awhile but you can tell by the person’s figure if it was a "Treat" or an everyday thing… lol! We walked past the funnel cake stand and my oldest said why is it so bad for you? We laughed and i told her to look at the people standing in line. We did and of course… they were all OVERWEIGHT. I told her that was a good example of "you are what you eat". I told her there was nothing wrong with enjoying something you really love, but it has to be done every once in a while. No deprivation here, just know it is simply a "treat". But really… walking around, you see the majority of people are unfit. I am not judging at all, but it’s kinda sad. The reason I got into working out was to 1) lower my cholesterol 2) be a healthy gal when I get old, and 3) I wanted to look hot in a bikini. LOL! So the health benefits were my true goal and then it turned into personal satisfaction of getting lean and tight.
The key at staying with it during the holidays is sticking to your routine and workouts. If you are going to be partaking in holiday parties, think ahead…. keep your workouts intact and splurge and have your cheat day/meal on the day of the party. While everyone else is "living it up" partying and eating to their heart’s delight, you are fueling and in training and who will look better come January 2nd? LOL> you are
Have that wine, champagne and those fun holiday foods that come once a year, but know that you’ve got to get back to that diligent training because warm weather (spring break) is just around the corner and most people don’t look ahead. I’m preparing now for a trip to Cabo in February and the holidays are not going to stop me from my training.
Have fun this holiday season but keep working on those beautiful abs!
Cheers to you!
