Women in Heels

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

As a woman, I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the feeling of wearing heels.  All the time, actually!!!! No, I don’t arrive to the gym in my stilettos, but if I could hold on to that squat bar, I would.  lol!

It dawned on me today that I don’t own a pair of flat shoes.  Of course, I do have my running shoes and summer flip flops (only to be worn with casual shorts, on the beach and even then, I have spongy, tall sandals for the beach and pool).  Otherwise, I am ALWAYS in heels.   There is something sexy about a woman wearing heels that I wish all women would tune into.  Going to drop off the kids to school???  Heels.  Grocery store?? Heels.  Shopping?  Heels.  Whether I am wearing jeans, skirts or dresses… always heels.  Trust me, a woman feels incredible when she is teetering in lovely, tall shoes.  Peep toe, open-toe sandaled heels, nice heeled boots, Cat woman boots (love those black boots to the knee with the tall heel… makes you want to look for your whip!)  ha ha!  But not only do you feel sexy, women DO look incredible in heels.  I am sure men won’t disagree!

The skinnier the heel, the better.  If you’ve never worn heels, pick a nice height heel and balance yourself (if you can’t, try a lower heel.. you don’t want to be throwing yourself onto the escalator steps in a semi-graceful fashion. lol!)  Pop your shoulders back and feel how beautiful you really are!  (sounds like a scene from Legally Blonde, doesn’t it? ha ha).  Being 5′2", I am pretty petite and any help I can get, I will surely take!  Heels definitely help you feel taller!

I only wear running shoes when I have workout gear on.  NEVER will you find me with sneakers and jeans.  NEVER.  (I know men do this, and its ok, but women, don’t do it!  It is totally not sexy) :)

So, the next time you ladies are out shopping for shoes… pass up on the shoes that make you look like you are a mom.  You deserve to feel like a hot gal… and I am sure your special someone will totally love the view!

Keep training hard! :)

The Quest for the Unattainable

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Ever have something you wanted that was unattainable?  Or so you thought was unattainable?  lol.

My close friend, Strongforgood, is a whiz at doing pullups.  She can jump up and go to town on them.  Amazed… I jumped up one day and held on… yeah right!! (giggles).  There was no way I could pull myself up. So it has been a desire for me to get what I haven’t been able to achieve.

Now, if it had to do with my abs… I would be all over it because my abs are very strong.  But here I  thought i had upper-body strength… why can’t I do more than 2 pullups??  It floors me, really!!

So, my goal is to do 5 pull ups by May.  Small goals for a small girl.. ha ha!

Once I reach it …. I will relish in uttermost sweetness! ;)

What Motivates You?

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

I did a thread on the forum asking "What motivates you"?   A myriad of answers, the underlying one was… RESULTS.

I get alot of questions from fellow bbrs here asking how can they stay motivated?

Goals.  First of all, motivation can come in a multitude of ways.  My first motivation was the thought of me getting into a bikini and looking spectacular.  It was my goal and it was my bait dangling on a fishing line for me to get to working on it.  Once I started going through the motions… creating a workout routine, incorporating cardio, and then fine-tuning the eating, I was almost there.

New exercises/routines.  Being in the gym, learning new exercises, increasing weights, trying new things keeps you on the edge.  I always love changing up my routines, adding more weight or simply tweaking something in my workout and the new soreness I get from changing it up lets me know its working.

Results.  Looking in the mirror… seeing your muscles take on a new shape to your body.  Having your clothes fit better, seeing abs come in, shoulders getting defined, your stamina increasing.  Its all good!  What better motivation can that be?

Friends.  Of course, friends can be great motivators.  What makes it fun going to the gym?  You guessed it…. seeing your regular gymrat(s).  Having them there makes a difference in the world when you get in a slump and need that extra push to get moving.

Whatever it takes for you to get motivated…. find it, grasp it and do it.  Initially, seeing others on this site who were at the same weight, height, etc., helped fuel and motivate me to do it.  Keep striving. Make the changes necessary to achieve the results you want to get.  It’s all up for grabs.  You just need to make it happen.  Never be afraid to take that step to get what you want because otherwise you might not get to taste a truly delicious experience… reaching your goal.

Keep training hard! :)

Cabo

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

I’m in Cabo this weekend…it can’t get better than this!  Such beautiful weather.

We are here with 3 other couples.  Our first night we went out and had a really nice Mexican dinner.  We went out afterwards to the marina to a fun, little, outdoor bar… Nowhere Bar where  KLTexas and I (and the rest of our girlfriends) danced for 2 hours straight!!  LOL! Such a fun time!

Yesterday the guys went deep sea fishing and caught a Marlin.  Some of the girls went to the spa while I stayed in… soaked in some rays and just relaxed by our pool.  ;)   The evening was a treat – we enjoyed cocktails by the outdoor fireplace and listened to some Dave Matthews tunes. Such a nice way to start the evening.  We had a private chef come in and prepare a seafood dinner for us and it was truly wonderful!

As I’m typing this… I am watching such a gorgeous sunrise over the ocean.  Incredible.

We leave tomorrow but today we are definitely making it rock!  Our plans for this evening include taking a sunset dinner cruise on a small yacht.  I have done this each and every time I come to Cabo.  Always such an awesome time!

Of course, we have made it in to the gym here.  Today will be a long cardio session…

Lifting my margarita glass up to you :)

Keep training hard!
