Did you ever want something so bad you could taste it??? No, I mean REALLY want something? (Yes. I Do!) LOL! Got your attention? Good.
Since the beginning of my training I wanted to achieve a great, sculpted figure. Curves in the right places but still be lean. I wanted to eventually acquire some defined abs but told myself that most likely, I would not have the genetics to have that. And really, a 6-pack was not my true agenda. Just shedding bodyfat and being tight and trim would suffice. Well, I have leaned out but want to keep a sexy, curvy figure. My abs have developed quite nicely, unexpectedly. And by all means, I don’t want to look "hard" because I think a woman’s softness can be quite sexy. I laughed the other day because I told a friend of mine that Victoria Secret models don’t have six packs. ha ha.. So true. They do, however, have curvaceous bodies. But we won’t argue that they, most likely, don’t have the strength or endurance. And well, they probably don’t eat either.
My training has lead me in different areas: stamina, strength, tone. My stamina in running is wonderful…pretty awesome to be able to run my heart and and the best part… zone out and enjoy it. I have gotten so much stronger in the last couple of years and love it. Being toned is just awesome. It’s nice to be fit and tight. No doubt about that. Feels great!
For both men and women, lifting weights has so many benefits. Your body takes a new shape, a new form. It helps turn back the timeclock (me, not worried about that yet… bc I feel like a teenager! ) and who wouldn’t want to be looking hot at 65? lol! Women can be hot and sexy and it has a lot to do with the way they feel about themselves. If you are working out, you can visually see the results of your changing body. Your self-confidence always is a number one boost. You look good and you feel great!
It does take alot of hard work to achieve a goal. It also takes alot of dedication and commitment. Eating healthy can be 80% of the effort. If it was so easy… everyone would have hot, sexy bodies! With that in mind…. I am still working on it
Keep training hard!

Such an intense workout today! Actually, went back to the gym for a 2nd workout to really kick in some intense cardio. Biked it for 20 mins and then ran/sprinted for 20 mins. I had some energy I needed to get rid of so I did HIIT today. Although it was a highly motivating workout, the tunes were going (i wonder if I will lose my hearing as I age bc of how loud i play my ipod!) and there was no stopping me.
There is some controversy with a few of my fellow bbrs on here about HIIT. I personally did it for about 6 months several times a week. Seems I hit a plateau during that time period and not an ounce fell off!!! A close friend of mine who is a personal trainer suggested i stop doing HIIT (which is 20 mins bc its so intense) and start doing 45 of steady cardio. Wow. In 3 days I dropped 4 pounds. Incredible! I have to admit, there are days where you just want to release some energy and just fly on the treadmill. Today was one of those days and it was awesome!!
The problem that I saw with HIIT previously is that I am assuming that for those 6 months I was getting my heartrate too high when I would reach my sprint speed (9.4) that it woudl begin to burn glycogen. Even though I was bringing my hr back down, I have read that your hr will drop, but your body may continue to burn glycogen instead of tapping into your fatstores. So for those 6 month I think I didn’t drop weight for that reason. So although today I might not have tapped into that fat-burning, I just wanted the intense high.
I followed up with some deltoid work and WOW! They were really popping out that a few women looked at my arms as I was lifting. I, by all means, don’t want to get too muscular, or look like a guy, but my arms were looking pretty darn spectacular today! (my arm is almost broke… i’m patting myself on the back, here! LOL!) Now, if I could get those hams and glutes in A-1 condition, I would be elated! But that’s the fun of training… seeing results after alot of hard work and makes you focus on other areas that need improving. Its funny. To an average person (who may not workout or be fit) a specific bodypart on you may look great to them but to yourself, as a bbr…. its not near perfect. We have to continue and continue until the hardest area to train has reached its maximum potential and then … yes… it’s time to move on to another area to perfect.
Keep training hard and keep loving those workouts!

The next time you want to jump-start your routine, tweak it or just need a push .. get a friend to be your rock. In the last 2 weeks I have had a friend that I have been accountable to… we keep each other in check… our meals, our workouts and if we are in a slump or discouraged with our progress or need to re-evaluate our goals… they are there. We’ve been pushing each other to make sure each workout counts and that even if we fall behind in our clean eating.. we jump back on and go at it again. Unstoppable.
Of course… its been a riot! I make sure we have lots of laughs and giggles along the way. Never a dull moment with me! lol!!! Once you get me going… i’m pretty hard to keep contained! And my friend will definitely tell you I am always pushing the envelope…. ha ha! I will have to say… my friend keeps me rolling with laughter, continuously!
We are serious to make our goals… and they are sooo attainable we just need to continue and keep pushing hard!
Intensity baby - that is where its at!

Ok… this is the deal… get your butt moving and get it in gear!!! LOL! Motivation begins with step 1… what goal do you want to achieve?? Step 2… Do something about it… begin your weight routine and kick in that cardio! Step 3… Get into clean eating and throw out all the holiday stuff in your pantry…. those cute (and old) cookies, candied nuts (love nuts, but you don’t need the sugar) that fudge that weighs about 5 lbs (will weigh more on you if you eat it!!) Get it all out! Focus on that determination and run with it!!
Don’t vow to simply make a certain occasion being 5 lbs thinner…. keep in mind that you want to be healthy… not just slimmer. Nothing feels better than knowing everything is in tip top shape…. who wants to be thin and yet have that cholesterol rocket high??? (I used to be that person… although I was not fit to begin with).
I just read a blog about pics that could be considered porn on here. Excellent blog. Ladies… we know you were fat before and look great now. We commend you for that!!! Hooray! I have been there… but you just need to not show EVERYTHING the good Lord gave you in your pics on here. Save a little for your special someone. If it doesn’t show any muscular development, I am sure some of us don’t want to see it…. and if it is only covered by a piece of thread… omg… I don’t EVEN want to go there… Now of course, seeing a tight glute when we know you have worked hard for it and you are doing a simple pose… we all are behind you on your success there! But if you are showing off more than that…. in a crawling cat pose…??? Puh-leez.
Ok… enough ranting!!
Keep that motivation, that perseverance and focus!!! Keep training hard!!!! Enjoy those workouts!!

I am so glad the holidays are over!! It was fun, but it is always better to get back to business… the gym!!
I worked out my legs yesterday… deadlifts, squats, leg press and some lunges. Ouch… Hams are a little sore today… but it sure feels good! Yes… the deadlifts are definitely working… those glutes look…welll, i am sure you know what I am about to say…
I was able to get my run in yesterday… and my knee didn’t give me any trouble. That is such a good sign because come Monday…. those training sessions will be very intense…. both weights and cardio. Move out of my way!!! LOL! This gal isn’t looking back!! With a Cabo trip planned in February…. wow… so ready to go!!! I am ready now… but the possibiltiies of a month more to train… AWESOME!!

I started the morning off by a run in Central Park. In my thermal Cabela running pants and layered on a thin wool sweater and Gap sweatshirt, it was nice to run my heart out. People taking a stroll, visitng the park and others walking their dogs… it was a beautiful day. Sunny and 33 degrees. I managed to get in about 25 minutes in before my silly knee started to act up… ugh! Figured I shouldn’t push it, because then I would really pay for it later… I decided to walk briskly…. I was completely zoned out on my Ipod. I stopped to take a pic with my phone as I ran around the Central Park Reservoir… great view. By the time I made it out of the park…. it had been over an hour!!
We went shopping a bit around Lexington and stopped for some good ole’ pizza. Ha ha… I had half a Supreme Protein bar (yum) before we went out for pizza…. i didn’t want to pigg out on that cheesy stuff… but I did have 1/2 a slice. We continued on our walking expedition around the Midtown…
We ventured to Little Italy for dinner… which was very good. Had a nice glass of Prosecco and rang in the new year. Times Square was fully packed….I didn’t go near there…. but a person in our elevator told me that it would take about an hour to walk thru the crowd of only 1 block. No thanks!
So…. here it is…
2008. A fresh new year. Looking forward to an exciting year!
:)
