FOCUS ON THOSE ABS AND GLUTES!

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

I am so excited…. in about 3 weeks I will be sunning in Grand Cayman! :)   I cannot wait.  I just LOVE the beach!  I love the smell of the ocean, I love the smell of sunscreen!  I LOVE the smell of coconut oil.  I am so psyched to go!

I am going to focus completely to get in shape (ha! you laugh).  Ok, maybe just focus completely on getting those abs even harder and working those glutes!  The best thing of it all….. gotta get new bikinis because the ones from this summer have gotten a little too big for me! Yeah!

I have gotten so bored with my old ab exercises!  I’ve gotten some  ideas on new ab exercises; but seems I am not getting the "burn" and soreness I used to get when working on my abs.  They are used to the movements and want more!  If you have any favorite ab exercises, send them my way, please! The harder, the better!!

Keep training hard!

Love your music while working out?

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Funny how music can sooo influence your motivation behind your workout.  I always find i stick to a few songs that really get me going… some stimulate me so much I drift off somewhere in my head….. others make me want to speed up that treadmill to do my sprints!  Since I have started running, there is no way I could run without my music… my IPod is an appendage to me while I workout.   No softy stuff here… love feeling intense and having those intense workouts…  Funny how a particular song can trigger certain thoughts and there you go…. makes you work even harder! LOL!

Accomplishment!

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

For months now I have been busting my tail….and it has paid off!  Getting up at 5 am, making it to the gym 6 days out of the week has earned me a nice, lean and muscular body.  Eating clean has been the key.  Struggled in the beginning but it is sooo worth it.  I can now steer my body and eating to take me where I want my body to look and feel.

The enormous motivation I get by friends and my gym rats has helped tremendously.  My partner in crime (lol), and good friend, Kathy, who is a personal trainer helped bring that into focus these last 3 months.  We attended our first bodybuilding competition in August and that fueled the motivation to get leaner… not necessarily to compete, but to shed even more bf.

The countless times I have had women and men alike, come up to me and congratulate me on my new bod, further fuels the fire! :)   The best part of it all… my accomplishment!  Meeting my goals and enjoying every ounce that it brings!

Impatience sometimes gets us…. wanting to find the right supp that will work miracles, shedding pounds for a certain occasion, etc.  We can’t get there fast enough!  Keeping your head in the game, with perseverance, will get you the results you want.  You just can’t give up!  May take a year or longer, but the results will come!  In the meantime, enjoy every delicious moment your workout gives you!

Keep training hard! ;)

Loving my workout!

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Ever had one of those workouts when you left completely satisfied with each exercise you did?  Where you felt that your motion was right on – not too fast, not too slow?  And even better, when you are seeing your muscles twitch and the lineage pop as your moving that muscle?  Ahhhhhh….. love that! :)

I had such an awesome delt workout… The easiest part of my body to build and sculpt. Funny, when your muscles really start to take shape, even without flexing, it is so cool!  I’m sure as guys, they’re used to it, but for women, it is hard to build up to that point.  I love having strong upper body that I have caught women looking at my shoulders and arms.  I didn’t realize at first why…. but then it dawned on me that my arms are taking shape and they obviously notice the curves of my arms!

I’ve moved up in weights to get it to transform quicker but yet, the pure joy I get is when I see how my traps have developed. The simple task of just "throwing" in a couple cases of bottled water in my car and it not being heavy for me is pretty cool.

Although I am almost at my goal (haven’t tested my bf yet again since March), abs are still my priority and then really focusing on my back.  I love to wear halters that show my back, the strength and sexiness that goes along with that…  (soft definition).

I have met many small goals in my journey so far…… lowering my cholesterol from 238 to 200;  enjoying to run (hated it at first, and would be exhausted after a few minutes of it); increasing my stamina in running with sprinting; losing 20 pounds; dropping bf by probably 10% so far (i estimate i may be at 19 or 18); just plain getting up at 5:15 a.m. to be at the gym; and completely changing my eating habits… eating clean.

I never realized what commitment it took to really be in tune with the whole regimen.  I laugh at what I used to eat and what I actually thought was "healthy".  Eating small meals throughout the day fuels me and never leaves me hungry. Friends are surprised at how much I eat throughout the day.  It has been nice to have friends ask me what to eat and what to do at the gym.  Its not a secret…… just have to take baby steps at being disciplined.  :)   Keep training hard!
