I’M SO EXCITED!

Ahhhhh…. kids back at school and back to my routine (wait, i didn’t change my routine for the summer….. *puzzled look*) lol…. But i guess it feels back to routine …. all the regulars back into full force, the gym is buzzing.  Such a good thing!

My last week was awesome.  I was in punta mita last week, worked out every day (did take 1 day off) and didn’t have too many margaritas :)    I have increased my cardio and my abs are leaning out so much that i am just in awe at how well this is all working out.  My clean eating has been effortless.  I am excited to get my bf tested next week and see how much % I have dropped.

I tried a new ab exercise….. with a small medicine ball.  Its kind of a basketball swoop in and under the legs while you are on your back while going up to crunches.  Ha.  The first time i tried it, i looked like a goober.  Takes a little coordination…….. but i’m getting there!  Hope to post some exciting BF% news next week!!!!!   ;)

WHAT WAS I THINKING?

As a followup to one of my recent posts on the forum, i was not muscle wasting, but simply not doing enough cardio.  I have tossed my HIIT on the treadmill aside for now.  It might have made my endurance fly out of the roof, but did nothing for dropping my bf%.  Seems my heartrate apparently was going too high, i was going anaerobic and burning glycogen instead of tapping into my fat stores.   I extended my cardio sessions to 40-45 mins instead of my 20 min HIIT sessions and in as little as 3 days saw a HUGE difference.  Needless to say, I did increase my calories (seems i wasn’t eating enough, which felt like i was eating ALL DAY as it was!) and saw the scale finally "speak" to me.  I rarely check the scale, but after my sister mentioned i looked slimmer since the week before, i jumped on.  Results!  I have been varying my cardio between the treadmill, elliptical and the bike. 

 I hate the fact that for the last 4 months of being on a plateau, i didn’t have a light bulb go off…… what the heck was i thinking?  Anyway, seeing that bf come off has thinned out the fluff i had around my middle.  My gauge….. my abs.  No scale, no clothing sizes, just those abs.  I tried on some jeans/pants yesterday in a size 4.  They were too big!  Seems i have to start looking at 2s.  Not necessarily my goal…. i don’t want to be a stick by any means, but i don’t want to drop too fast either (is that a complaint that just came out of my mouth?)  I want to keep the curves of my body and definitely, don’t want to look masculine or bulk up by any means… I simply want to look hot.  I don’t feel my age, never have.  I think the key is to keep that brain always in tune with how you want to look.  Confidence.  Hotness… LOL!

Going on a trip to P.Vallarta…. I bought a new bikini (with strings) and will enjoy the heat, the sand and of course, some ritas! 

Progress!

I had the most incredible workout week.  I visually saw my progress!  After the advice of my good friend, who happens to be a personal trainer, i extended my cardio each day and dropped the HIIT.  I have been on a plateau for the last 4 months with no loss in bf (none that i could tell).  This week i could see the ab cuts a little better (i’m sure no one would be able to tell but me) and it sent me on a high.  My clean eating must be the key as well. 

 I trained with a personal trainer for the first time ever this past week.  He gave me a good workout and gave me some new ideas for certain areas.  He definitely hit an area of my abs that i had never worked out before.  I thought i would be sore, but thrilled that i was only tight in my back.  made me feel like i was in good shape to take a beating and keep on ticking.  lol.
