Blog Entry

so it’s been almost three months since knee surgery and I’m starting to feel more confident.  my knee still starts to hurt after about 20 min on the bike and it’s tight when I do leg curls but other than that, it’s doing okay.

the diet has been a difficult thing to tackle.  coming off of knee surgery, where I ate whatever I wanted to make sure I could have enough nutrients and calories to recover faster, I now have to drastically overhaul my diet.  I’ve been focusing on eating a whole egg and five whites each meal along with about four or five oz. of white rice and a big salad of red onion, iceberg lettuce, cilantro, carrots, and tomatoes with a miso soy dressing.  so far it seems to be going okay.  back on the lipo-6.  hoping to weigh in around 244 or so on march first.  that would mean a gain of twenty-seven pounds since late november.  I figure it’s going to take at least three or four months to get back down to about 215.  and then it’ll be another few months til I get down to about 190 or so.  I think once I get near 185 I shouldn’t have much more fat to lose, so the road shouldn’t be so long.

also, I’ve noticed a lot of my strength is still there.  I’ve started out slow by doing pyramiding sets of ten.  for example, on incline press, I’ll start out with 115 and then work it up in increments of twenty pounds to 135, to 155, to 175, to 195, and then to 205 for the last set.  almost every set is done fairly easily.  I’ve noticed a deeper burn and a greater pump compared to the low rep sets I did on my dieting program before.  I’ve been on creatine and aakg to see if that will help recovery time so I can keep working out.  so far it’s been a rough road.  I’ve been extrememly sore for a couple of days after but it’s been getting easier and easier as more workouts have come along.  hopefully, in a few weeks, I’ll only be sore for a day, considering I can keep supplementing with enough protein and get plenty of rest.

not much to post as of yet but maybe some of my workouts would be good.
