Being able to be a self-critic is a good thing. We've all got things we can work on. You're right though the mirror doesn't lie. The scale might, however. Don't give too much credit to it. Stick to how your clothes feel, or try a myotape as your progress comes along. Its not about the weight, its about the measurements. Hope you have a wonderful and successful 2009!

Way to go! 3 days in a row.

I don't log my w/o's, I just go with what I feel for that day. But if you really want to track it, keep a notepad of your exercises, weights, sets &amp; reps with you. :)

Be sure to wrap your hands and wrists with high quality hand wraps. Make sure only your index and middle finger knuckles contact the bag- think of squeezing your fist as contact is made. Also be sure the top of your hand is aligned with your wrist and forearm and keep your wrists straight and locked. Don't punch the bag with full power when it swings towards you, instead work on movement. And always remember to keep your chin down!!! Have fun!!

Hello and Happy New Year!

I saw your blog and as a boxer and Personal Trainer my love is boxing!!! the 1st thing you would want to do besides investing in gloves are wraps. i'm pretty sure you've seen boxers wear these under their gloves. this will protect the knuckles as well as your wrist. also the best thing to do is when u strike the bag hit it while it's moving away from you...that'll protect your wrist as well! Good luck and i hope this helps. if you have any more questions hit me up @ nclive13@yahoo. i'm going to update my bodyspace page soon cause i been busy but my name is lefael!!

Bag work is a lot of fun. You should try starting off with basic combos like jab/cross, jab/cross.hook,etc. Also, work up to 3 minute rounds with 1 minute off. Once you can string several rounds together you'll get a pretty good workout.
