Track started a few weeks ago and so far alls we (sprinters) are doing is long distance base runs to get a good foundation for the rest of the season. Although i hate running farther than 200 meters i can tell that this extra conditioning is really improving my body. I am stayin at about 210 lbs. but i feel 100 times healthier and more cut up than before. Hopefully we do start actually sprinting soon thoough. When it comes to lifting i have been sticking to heavy weight with about 12 reps pre set (usually around 4-5 sets per excercise) this volume training is amazing and has produced some great results.

I had one of the best leg workouts i have ever had yesterday. I started with squats first set 135 lbs. 12 times then 225 12 times then 315 10 times so i put on 405 thinking id get maybe 4-5 (last time i only got 3) then something came over me before i did my set and i just stepped in completely pumped and repped out 10 which absolutely smashed my old squat max (one rep calculator) so obvioulsy its not a legit reading because i havent done 540 yet but it definitely sparked a new fire under my legs for my next leg day…cant wait for it!

On Monday I switched everything from super heavy to heavy while increasing the reps. Originally i did 6-10 reps for each excercise but now I am doing 12-15 with nearly the same weight. It’s obviously more challenging and I have been getting ridiculous pumps from my workouts. I can see everything starting to get a little more dense and its shedding those annoying little layers of fat from everything. I was shooting for dropping my body weight, but this has caused it to jump a little and im sitting at around 211, but it feels great so I am not complaining in the least. Track starts next week and then I will see if I need to lose any mass. Until Later….Stu

I’ve been bulking up since football was over and now im at a good 210 but in order to compete in track I am going to need to cut down a bit but keep my strength…hopefully get down to a lean 190-195 and really burn em … i will keep it posted on my efforts…so far I am starting a creatine cycle…stuff always seems to help me burn lot of fat but keep my muscle mass…I’ll just have to see how this turns out….track is a really long season too so I’ll see how well i can keep my weight managed at a lower level for extended time…(not quite as bad as wrestlers have it though! hahaha)
