A Broken Foot, But Not A Broken Dream
A couple months ago I sent in my entry form to do the NPC Excalibur show on December 5th of this year. I was totally excited because I would be doing my very first figure show at age 19! Unfortunately, a little over 2 weeks ago, I had a minor mishap occur when I landed wrong on my left foot. I thought, "It’s ok, it’s probably just twisted or sprained. I’ll be running again in a week’s time!"
So 2 weeks later, there’s still swelling and discoloration. Had an MRI done and went to see a specialist. He says, "This is not a minor injury. This type of injury is worse than broken bones. On average, this will take 2-3 months to heal." Two to three months!! I’ve got a tad over 4 weeks til Excalibur! Soooooooooooooooooooooooo…..no show for me this year :[
But that is okay! My hopes are still high, and I have been still going to the gym since the day after I injured myself. Gotta keep what muscle I have and just try to add some more. There are always shows next year, and I will still be 19 years old. Perhaps I’ll come back bigger and better!
with love, Kim <3

Well written and meaningful blog, Kimberly. Sometimes, these things happen for a greater good. You’ll no doubt come back with better size and superior conditioning. And heck, you don’t need a foot to powerlift on the bench press. Stay motivated and keep being wonderful. Mark
