Iron brothers

April 15, 2008

Sunday… beautiful sunny day. Excellent temperature and plenty of rest. This is how my day started.

Next thing I know I’m getting ready for my afternoon training with my training partner; we are going to do legs today. I’m excited, this is the first time we actually train together though we have been eating and sometimes training in the same gym, but never together. I suspect it is going to be awesome. I pack my things and get ready with my girlfriend to go and have the most hardcore training of me.

On the way I take my supplements, caffeine, Lcarnitine, green tea extract (I’m in my diet), NO increaser, CaMg, tyrosine. My stomach is in a knot, I’m nervous.

We arrive, (met with some friends on the way) and after changing we go get warmed up on the bikes. 10 mins, we agree on what we are going to do today in this time. Leg extensions, squats, leg press, leg extensions, seated leg curls, deadlift and seated leg opening (the feminine machine :o ) )

The problem started with squats :) When you are training alone, you would hardly ever cross your limits… but when you have and iron brother… instead of 10 reps you do 14, if he did 14, you do 15… and the results are obvious … fainting and vomiting; well just almost

Leg press went with record weights, leg extensions we did the maximum reps we could. Whilst I was doing it, he was just down on the floor and when I have fisnished I just fell out from the machine.

On the seated leg openings we used maximum weight, which is I think 152.5 kgs… Next was seated leg curls, well this shocks your "leg biceps"
Deadlift was next… we agreed not to use big weights… we were barely moving by this time… so we took it easy..

At the end we wanted to do some calves… but that was skipped… we stretched,  and went down to the locker room for protein shake and rice cakes. It barely went down… we were so exhausted that every step was a gift.

The cherry on the pie was the 20 minutes jacuzzi and some hot stone bed for a finish.

I hope we can repeat it sometime in the future!

We had a major problem at work, I got to stay in till 8pm –> today’s training got busted… my brother went and trained chest without me when it is good to have someone whom you can trust.

Tomorrow is arm day in addition I’ll do some chest and shoulders.
