Making Changes…

October 21, 2008

Well, I have decided that I’m ready to get with the program harder than ever!  I started doing cardio again last week, pulling a forty minute session each visit.  I am going to incorporate that four times a week and see if I can’t drop some more bodyfat.  My progress so far has been great and I am in no means complaining here.  I have been ecstatic over how I’ve changed my body up to now, but I am ready to take it to the next level and hit my target goal!  It’s time for me to get with it or get over it and I’m no quitter!

I’ve started doing a full body workout that I’m going kick up to three times a week, but I’m going to keep it running in a cycle so it’s not the same motions over and over again.  Hopefully the the rotation of my routine will keep me growing and IF I do plateau again, I’ll find a way to bust out of it once more!  I remember reading a phrase on someone’s page here on BB and it said to "train insane"…. Well, that’s exactly what I’m going to start doing now!  I’m ready to have what I want, when I want it and nothing will drag me down this time around.  Here’s to achieving my fitness goals!!!

Lack of Energy

September 23, 2008

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but as of late, I have been so overtired that I almost feel I can’t function normally.  I work full time, go to school at night and still maintain my gym routine a minimum of two days a week (and it drives me crazy on those weeks that I can’t get my third workout for the week, too).  I take my multivitamin at night, do an additional iron supplement and still do the protein powder.  I usually hit the bed around 9:30 to 10:00 at night and I am up by around 5:00-ish in the mornings.  Although, here lately I can’t make myself keep going.  Should I take a break for a week or so?  I feel like my routine is off kilter when and if I do that, but I’m wondering if my body is trying to tell me to sit down and rest for a while?  If you read this and have any comments or suggestions, throw me a message or leave it here.  Thanks!

Motivation…

January 11, 2008

Well, the more I get into my training and workouts, the more I am inspired to stick with it.  As you can see from my recent photo posts, I’m making some great progress with my body.  I am going to stick with it and make my goals a reality.  Once I hit my goals, then I plan on maintaining my physical shape from that point forward.  I hear so many guys around the gym saying I used to like this or that, but I don’t want to be the one saying those words one day.  Barring any unforeseen circumstances or life altering changes, I think I can keep this up.  It’s insane when I think of how sluggish and careless I was with my body before.  I know I don’t want to go backwards, that’s for sure.

I started taking creatine recently and hope that it will benefit my body in meeting my goals.  I’m not going to do it for an extended period of time, but I felt I needed another boost to keep my body’s transformation coming in the right direction.  I purchased another can of my protein powder yesterday and plan on implementing that into my regular diet again, too.  We’ll see how everything goes.  I posted several new pictures, some of which might be a little risque, but I’ve seen worse on here.  At least I didn’t bare my "business".  LOL…

I’m ready to start cardio again, I think.  I haven’t made up my mind if I want to do that or not.  I’ve thought about waiting until the end of the summer and then doing cardio again, but I’m torn between decisions.  I’ve actually managed to pack on some more weight.  I weigh 209 now, which is good because my waist hasn’t gotten any larger so therefore it has to be muscle mass, right?  I would seriously doubt my body could carry that much fat considering the only place I have fat over my muscles now is my inner thigh and around my obliques.  I really think that’s going to be my biggest accomplishment yet, when I can shred that body fat in those areas.  I know I can do this, everything in life is mind over matter.  The power of self belief can afford you the opportunities of making any goal a reality.  You just have to believe in yourself and that I surely have done.

We shall soon see…

December 26, 2007

I’m not quite sure what’s going on with my training, but I’ve managed to pick up quite a few pounds in the last few weeks.  I’d like to chalk that up to muscle gain, but I’m just not sure.  I’m extremely critical of my personal appearance; some have even said I’m just vain, but that’s their take, not mine.  I don’t think I am vain, I just think I’ve worked hard to get into the shape I’m in and I appreciate the physique I’ve built and plan on keeping it that way.  I just have to stay in check.  You know?  At any rate, I started jogging again this morning.  I was way ready for it, too.  Hit a few puffs on the good ol’ asthmatic inhaler, did a few stretches and out the door I headed.  My calves are a little sore, but I stretched them out some more when I got back from the jog.  I tracked two and a half, nearly three miles in about twenty seven minutes.  Not too bad for someone who hasn’t jogged AT ALL since September last year.  Revamping my routine at the gym and plan on starting a few supplements, too - protein powders and the like for the most part.  I’m going to beef it up on the cardio.  I don’t want to pick up any weight from bodyfat again, so I’ll do what it takes to keep the shape I’ve made thus far.  Posting some new pics in mid-January.  Let’s see where I am at once the time comes.  I’ll post a new blog and some new pictures then.  Later guys….

Winter bulk

December 12, 2007

I keep seeing all these guys on here talking about their "winter bulks",but exactly what are they bulking?  Do they not do cardio and pack on some weight and cut it down in the spring?  I for one am clueless about some things when it comes to BB.com, so if you read this and could drop me a few hints, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Changes coming slower now…

December 3, 2007

Well, when I first started hitting the gym hardcore the results were flying right by me but now they’re kind of slowing up.  I’ve managed to gain a few pounds instead of lose, but I’m trying not to do overkill with the cardio.  I have made some pretty good gains in my chest and my shoulders.  Even my arms are coming along nicely.  As I’ve said before, I want a huge upper body!  I am wondering though if I can hit my goal of losing this weight though.  I’ve always been told that muscle weighs more than fat.  I’ve got to start cutting down my body fat percentage, but I’m not sure how to go about doing it?  If you’re reading and have any suggestions, drop me a private message rather than a comment.  I’d sure appreciate the extra help and suggestions.

Morning drain

November 7, 2007

Not quite sure why, but lately I’ve been so tired it’s unreal.  I work full time and go to school, but that’s not usually my problem.  I’ve been trying to figure out if there’s something I’m missing in my diet that could be causing my chronic fatigue;  I haven’t really pinpointed anything yet either.  It doesn’t keep me from hitting my gym when I’m ready to get in there and work it out hard, though.  I don’t let anything steer me away from my workouts.  They’ve become my refuge and my source to vent anger and or my frustrations or just to relieve stress.  I know I’ve said it before, but I love  hardass workouts because I know when it’s over I’ll have this warm euphoric feeling over my whole body and know I’ve accomplished something as well.

Positive Reinforcement

November 5, 2007

I had a friend drop by my house last night to watch a movie with me and my roommate.  I had just gotten back from the gym and was still covered in sweat.  When my buddy walked in the door, he was in awe of how much change I’d made in my frame since last time he saw me.  Talk about feeling really great!  I get discouraged sometimes because I don’t see changes the way I want them, but from someone else’s perspective my body is changing faster than I realize.  It’s just a great feeling when someone else notices and is genuinely excited for you.  I’ve been working really hard on my chest, shoulders, abs and my arms.  I WANT TO BE HUGE! LOL…  But seriously, these are the areas I’m most focused on right now, but I don’t neglect other areas of my body.  I see some guys at the gym walking around with monsterous upper frames and this little "chicken" like legs.  I think some guys get so absorbed into building their upper body they forget they have other areas to work on as well.  I’m going to keep trucking on until I reach my goal on my twenty-sixth birthday.  If you’ve read my main page you’ll see my goal is to have the body of a fitness model by that time.  I’m on the right track, but now it’s time to get it supercharged and streamline the workouts for maximum results!

Trying Really Hard

November 1, 2007

Well, lately I’ve been trying to focus on the whole health factor as far as my body is concerned.  I’m really trying to redesign my diet, not as in terms of losing weight, but for the purpose of dropping all the unhealthy, toxic foods from my diet.  It’s definitely a change, that’s for sure.  I’ve never really been one to just totally "pig out" on junk, but it sure is tempting sometimes.  Having a stressful day at work, at school or just in general can make you want to dive into it all.  I try to readjust my concentration and look for other avenues.  Honestly, I’ve found gardening to be a really great outlet besides working out.  I swear, I can be as sore from working in my yard as I can be from the gym.  It’s great.  I really love that euphoric feeling you get from a hardass workout though.  It’s really awesome.  I want to start rotating my workouts though, because I don’t have a set routine for working out at the gym right now.  I kind of just go and mix it up with different machines and the freeweights.  That has worked wonders so far, but I think I’ve reached a point where I’m going to have to change up the same ol’ routin a bit because I’m not showing results like before.  If you read this, drop me a few pointers or lines of help, or encouragement and inspiration.  Peace out!

Welcome!

October 15, 2007

Last week I purchased a fitness ball. You know, the ones that they show these fabulously fit people working out with in the commercials on television?  I honestly think it’s my favorite piece of workout equipment.  My gym had two of these and for whatever reason, they’re not there any longer.  I decided what the heck, they’re cheap and inexpensive, so I’ll just buy one for home.

I brought it home, took it out of the box and started inflating the ball with its accompanying foot pump.  That took absolutely forever!  I really think almost thirty minutes had passed before I had this new toy ready to use.  The ball came with an exercise chart, which I plan on using as a guide for my own routine with it.  I think that on the days I don’t hit my gym for a regular workout, I’ll use my new fitness ball and try out some exercises of my own.  My most favorite thing of all about this ball is the fact that its simplicity can really create target moves for an awesome frame.
