Set backs…

June 30, 2009

So after my first few weeks I’ve had a bad couple of days. Saturday was supposed to be a cheat day for me but it turned into a cheat weekend! :-( I didn’t pay any attention to what I ate and I didn’t work out at all. I thought I would redeem myself Monday but that went down the tubes pretty quickly. I had a bout of depression and barely ate anything yesterday. I also haven’t been getting enough sleep. Needless to say, I feel terrible today. Not only because I’m dissapointed in myself but I physically feel sick. My body feels weak and tired and I’m pretty sure its a direct result of my weekend behavior. What did I do to myself?!? Ahh, I can’t wait to move home and start my gym membership so I can start lifting again. For now I’m struggling, trying to keep myself motivated to do whatever I can in the mean time. Hopefully I can find a way to be more successful with working out at home for the last 3 weeks before the move.

Blah…I need a gym

June 25, 2009

Working out at home is not working out for me! I wanna get back in the gym so badly and start lifting. I guess I’m gonna have to break down and buy some weights so I can lift at home for the next month. In the meantime, can anyone help me with legs? I dont have weights so I need the best home strength training for just my bodyweight! I would really appreciate any help I can get!

Overwhelmed!!

June 19, 2009

I’m really new to all this and I’m in the process of finding a weekly routine that works for me. I realize that every body is different and what works for one person might not work for the next but I need some advice. If anyone can relate or remembers when they were at this point and can answer this question for me I would be so appreciative!

When you were first getting started on your fitness journey where did you begin? What kind of workouts did you do and how did you change your diet?

If you could answer this assuming I know absolutely nothing about the fitness/nutrition world that would be great haha. I’ve been trying to take in too much information and I’m overwhelming myself. If I let it go too far then I will get discouraged and, god forbid, QUIT! So I’m taking preventative measures because I want to go all the way this time! Thanks in advance :-)

Immediate weight loss…

June 18, 2009

I don’t have a scale of my own so I’ve been weighing myself at work (a doctors office) for almost the past year. Well I just found out today that the scale is 5 lbs. over! I was ecstatic! It’s like i lost 5 lbs overnight haha! And now I’m so much closer to my goal weight. I’m excited because knowing that I’m that much closer was like an immediate motivation booster. Time to go work hard and make some progress! :-)

WARNING!!!

May 25, 2009

If you are trying to lose weight, eat better, or you’re just trying to keep yourself on track with your healthy eating habits then I have a little advice for you. Stay away from your grandparents house!!! Haha :-) I visited my grandparents and helped around the house with some things they couldn’t do and my grandmothers reward for everything is food! God bless her, she does make some delicious food but I’m sure we can all agree…most grandmothers cooking is dangerous. My grandmother may as well be Paula Deen haha. Her specialty is comfort food. I guess that’s what grandmothers do best. And not only does she insist on feeding me until I’m about to pop, she always sends more food home with me! Come on, how could I turn down food from my grandma???

Well I hope everyone had a great memorial day weekend…back to work tomorrow!

I need help!

May 22, 2009

Hi everyone. I’m about to do a complete lifestyle overhaul with eating and working out. I love working out but I have a hard time keeping my motivation up. But my real problem is eating right. I love food and I am terrible about cooking and keeping up with an eating schedule! Once I get everything right I can keep it up. It’s just the actual conversion from the lifestyle I’m living now to something much healthier that I have trouble with. So if anyone is willing to give me pointers I would really appreciate it! Good luck to you all and I look forward to getting some feedback! :-)
