DO OR DIE?
I know I’ve posted and stated that "sex" is the main reason we workout…
…but on a serious note:
Asthma, sleep apnea, acid reflux…All of these things that I carry on a day to day basis & all of these can lead to death.
I am already starting to feel the effects of sleep apnea – headaches! And I’m afraid that the headaches are a result of me having several bouts where I stop breathing throughout the night. And in turn, my brain may not be getting enough oxygen – which is cause for the headaches! (Scary)
I’m living on a double edged sword – my obesity contributes to my health problems (asthma, sleep apnea, acid reflux), but my health problems hinder me from exercise.
1. Asthma – shortness of breath, which means short workouts – if any
2. Sleep Apnea – when I wake up numerous times throughout the night, I do not get adequate rest – so much for that morning session of cardio
When it all boils down to it, I have no choice but to fight through these excuses and get as much exercise as I can, until I am able to work up to working out for 1 hour each day.
I have a wife, and 2 kids (5 & 7) plus a lot of nieces & nephews that tragically lost their father…
…for me – It’s do or die (And I can’t afford to die)
“Make a goal, not an excuse…”

I agree. My mom has sleep apnea now and she’s trying to lose weight but struggles with working out. She used to have acid reflux too.. she doesn’t anymore, I didn’t know that was related to weight??
I agree with you. It’s all about starting really slow. Nothing happens overnight so beginning in a small and gradual way is better than nothing!!
You should grab an Anthony Robbins book if you haven’t, you might like it and it’s very motivational (if you’re interested).

Just came across your blog. The secret,as many have already said,is to never give up.If you body gives up on a particular exercise, movement, etc,it’s ok,as long as you have tried your best.Go back and finish it as soon as you are able to.Wether it’s in 1 minute,2,3,4-1 hour ,next day, does,nt matter, just finish it!!!It’s not easy, but you know what the alternative is.Do not give up!!I have been in your shoes!PS you’r right about the sex part,so let that motivate you,it sure motivates the hell out of me!!

I came across you latest blog and it made me cry. My son has asthma and it kills me to see him go through this. I can only imagine how hard it is when you have other health issues that go along with it. Your right, you cannot give up. You will beat this. Be a spartan for your family! Even if you do only 30 min of something your body will continue to remember and eventually you will be up and doing 60 min and so on. You can always count on me to be on your sidelines cheering you on!

You can do this! I agree with everyone else…if you can only do 5 min. that’s OK. You’ll work up to that hour! And stick with that Eat Clean Diet, it changed my life. My husband lost 20lbs. in the past 8 weeks on it.
