Carried By Six Or Judged By 12?

The right to self-defense gets support in Florida.  By John Hay Rabb

In April 2005 Florida Governor Jeb Bush signed a bill based on a radical premise: that a law-abiding citizen is under no obligation to retreat from an attack when he is in a location where he has a right to be. Since the vast majority of citizens are seldom in illegal locations, the new law effectively grants Floridians the right to protect themselves virtually anywhere. I say this is a radical premise because that is what the antigun Flat-Earth Society would have you believe. The new Florida self-defense law gives them a case of the vapors, as they breathlessly predict an epidemic of bloody road-rage incidents and Wild West gunfights occurring on the tranquil streets of the Sunshine State. Never mind that several other states have already enacted similar laws. I am quite certain that if any pitched gun battles had occurred in those states, the liberal news media would have informed us by now.

The passage of the Florida bill was hailed as a victory for the so-called “castle doctrine.” This doctrine affirms that a man’s home is his castle. In 1532 England’s King Henry VIII declared that a man may defend his castle by any means necessary, even if the lord of the castle was the initial aggressor. It hardly seems cricket that a lord should be able to assault his neighbor and then retreat behind the walls of his castle. But then King Henry was never a stickler for fair play. In the 1600s noted British legal scholar William Blackstone wrote, “The law of England has so particular and tender a regard to the immunity of a man’s house that it [is considered] his castle and will never [be] violated.” Blackstone’s view became a central tenet of English common law, and thus was created the “castle doctrine.”

Since the birth of our nation, the castle doctrine has been reaffirmed by numerous court decisions. In the 1914 New York case, People v. Tomlin, the court said: “It is not now and has never been the law that a man assailed in his own dwelling is bound to retreat. If assailed there, he may stand his ground and resist the attack.” Now most states, even those as gun-phobic as New York, follow the same general principle with regard to the duty to retreat. A law-abiding person has a duty to retreat from an attack but only if retreat can be accomplished safely. A New York law passed in 1965 says that a person is not required to retreat unless he can do so “with complete safety to himself and others.” A 2002 Michigan Supreme Court ruling said, “A person is never required to retreat from a sudden, fierce and violent attack, nor is he required to retreat from an attacker who he reasonably believes [is] about to use a deadly weapon.” It’s simply not logical to expect a terrified person to weigh the relative merits of fight vs. flight in the blink of an eye. As former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Detached reflection cannot be demanded in the presence of an uplifted knife.”

For the citizens of Florida, the new law sweeps away much of the legal uncertainty associated with armed self-defense and the duty to retreat. The statute, which took effect on October 1, says in part:  “A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any of the places where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or herself or another.”

Ready to Start: “A NEW WAVELENGTH”

Hello readers, I have come the drawbridge of thought and have come to a conclusion. If you are not learning something new or getting better than the only logical conclusion is; WASTED TIME which we cannot afford.

I am going to get deeper with my already created interests. Expansion of my boundaries is a must order given unto me by my age. A new found land awaits for me in the labyrinth. I must not become indifferent or wavier from the goal. Rain, snow, fog and hail cannot make me bail.

I had a conversation with an old friend (74 yrs. old) that told me; “The one that can pick up all the pieces after falling apart and can start over is richer than a man that has all the money and becomes lost when he has nothing.”

Food for thought and with that I tell you keep searching but not to the point that you find your self lost. Reach for the sky, once you touch it then reach for the stars. Yes, I am a dreamer! Yet not one that solely does such and doesn’t come through with the fruit on the table. Baby, I do bring home the bacon in more ways the one you commonly know of.

It’s getting late & I have to work in the morning; GOODNIGHT!!!

Are You Out Of Your Element?
Unnecessary and created in poor taste are those that do nothing and waste everything. This is a public service announcement for all those who care about becoming better.

I have never in my life been an unwavering person. Matter of fact, I am one that waves from the wind. I bend and role to the music of the drum beat that may not have a rhythm. It may not have a pattern. With this knowledge, I find it hard to place all my interest into one place. It is a sacrifice to choose especially when you enjoy being multidimensional & a Jack of All Trades.
I have lost and found myself many times over. With each time that I retrieve my inner matter, it stands alone all together differently. Is this evolution or erosion?

Now that I am wiser from the test of time, things that matter have changed value. It’s all the BALANCE MAN.. Once we can walk the walk that we speak of & do the Dew dripping from our hard working bodies; we all then are making AMERICA I more enjoyable place. We all add in different ways & take away. Check your math and get back to me….CASA 11/24/07

What Are YOU Doing With Your TIME?

What Are YOU

Doing With Your

TIME?

I find myself in a bit of a daze, knowing that I am on the computer more than I am interacting with the public. It’s not that I do not want to. I am too busy with working on me and being with other people tends to veer you away from what you want to do. It’s good at times when you are meeting with family or good friends. As for new relations; I think that it opens way to spending more money and turns your focus MORE to having “fun” than anything else.

You must understand that I am someone that worked in the clubs for 9 years and have been through enough to know what brings negative energy. Just think about what we do to HAVE FUN…More times than not, it is with something or someone that you should not be dealing with. Our Devil Side calls out to us all too often.

Being here, I feel that I can express myself without interruption, without fear and without hesitation. FREEDOM rings! I also feel that you have to be ready to be alone, tending to yourself. If you don’t, who else will? Now I know that if you have a loved one then it’s a different story….Very different!

I find myself wondering the virtual world skipping, so to speak. It’s an outlet that if used CORRECTLY is helpful and useful. A vehicle that can make you or break you based on how you create it. So be careful in what you do, say and spend your time on…I’M OUT!

THE COMMON MAN WITH UNCOMMON FOCUS

 NOV. 19, 2007

WHO AM I & HOW DID I GET HERE…?

I am a 29 year old man that works with DSS, nonprofit originations and security. I work in one form or another, not only to fuel my needs and wants but also for my five year old son.
I always find a balance in my toiling day, so that I can continue to help my physical exemplification grow, into a better projection of what NPC sees as greatness. With every year that passes since my start in the NATIONAL PHYSIQUE COMMITEE, I continued to refine what God has given me. Because of my life structure and financial hardship, I cannot give my constant attention to creating a better body. I am limited to no more than 2 hours a day, six days per week. Now, to the individual who does not know much about professional training, I am willing to do a concise “breakdown” for you; Out of the 2 hours, Approx 40 minutes is devoted to cardio, approx 20 minutes goes to the rest-factor [which is broken down into segments] and last but not least, approx 1 hour goes to strength & power training. The order stated above is not set in stone. I hope that 12 hours of training a week does not sound overwhelming. It should not be. Just think of all the time you spend on socializing, or enjoying yourself doing something else. Speaking of enjoyment, I believe that this is a very powerful factor that makes my wants & needs possible to flourish, into what I am today. If you do not enjoy doing this then it will take much more than will power to get you to the body that you have thought of, dreamt of and crave but may not do anything about. Procrastination is the largest enemy working against you from my experience working with and on others to achieve their goals in the past.
I would like to get back the training time factors for those that have time restraints tighter than latex gloves; a half-an-hour per day, every day, participating solely in cardio in the gym or out is fine, great and very doable. As long as you keep your repetitions above 24 and rest less than 30 seconds between sets, this is cardio with weights in the gym.
I became educated about Bodybuilding.com through your company’s constant promotion at most of the upscale bodybuilding shows that I was either in or enjoying it as a viewer. I never thought to go to the site until 2007 when I saw someone at my gym wearing your shirt, stating your company name in large bold letters. It simply “clicked.” I figured that with all the attention that it was getting was for a validated reason.
Once I signed up, all else was history! I connected to it like bread & butter. I had been looking for a community where I would be able to expose my talent and hard work. The various sections of the site are very helpful, informative and easy to navigate.
No matter what you do in life, as long as you’re in a civilized, organized society, you’ll be able to create reality out of your dreams. There is no luck in your construction, only focus, determination and hard work.
            Sincerely,

CASA’S MOTIVATOR

I want others to understand that aside from motivation, there is the great necessity for us as a healthy people, to get into the gym or out & about with nature doing what helps keep our eco-system in order. We CANNOT just take care of our mind, money, spirit and all the other factors that “most” of us do first or foremost. Some how, the AMERICAN people usually fall behind with their physical attendance to maintaining a positive standing whole-heartedly; every time it comes to energy expenditure.

I feel that when you look at yourself figuratively speaking in the mirror, the question that must be asked is; “Do I want to live longer?” In doing so, I find my drive better for wanting to get out there and become better and feel the healthy streamlines flow through me. I am going to attempt to pass the baton to you fellow readers.

How I started working out, was because I needed an outlet for the stresses of my day. I could not meditate and still can’t. My refuge was the gym. I happened to be blessed with a family that could afford having one. From there, all else was history. I could not stay away long from the gym after I found love for it. All that I had prior to it was gymnastics but that is a whole other ball of wax. The intensity was such that after I was done (bout 1-2 hours) I felt relieved. There was a peace coming from the inside out. I was at peace with myself even if that was not the condition of my reality. That in itself, is something that I find priceless! If you disagree, please comment on this so that I may know of “your” priceless situation/s. Any how, back to the story at hand, there is an oasis in this process called, working out. Once you find it, like a habitual trait, you’ll feel that you not only want to do it but need to. The groove will fire you up time and time again. It will become a lifestyle. Living it is an enjoyment that I hope that all can feel.

There will be days that you feel like going to the gym is a burden because of all the various things going on in your everyday life. When this happens, refer back to why and how the exercise itself helps you through the stresses of the day. We can all find reasons why not to therefore we can also find just as many reason why to. Whether you are optimistic or pessimistic will vary this ratio. Aside from that there is a balance to life always.

Control is relative. Each and every one of us creates factors that may or may not be, so justification can be born the fashion of our own choosing. Like a dial on a radio tuner, find the clearest one with the most information for what moves the passion within you to do right by you. Pleasing others is great but you must start with yourself first. I know that you’ve heard of, “my body is my temple.” If you believe that yours is such, do right by it by digesting these words to nourish the very inner essence.

Excellence is something that we all have in us. It is just a matter of bringing it out with the help of people like me! Enjoy, take care and will be submitted more very soon my dear readers.
