Injuries Stink
Monday, September 24th, 2007Last Tuesday, I woke up with shooting pains in my neck, back and shoulder. Thinking I was just getting older and had slept wrong, I headed to the gym. By the time I reached the gym, the weight of my arm felt like it was going to rip my shoulder apart…
3 Days later when I finally went to the doctor, I found out I had strained my rotator cuff, and rhomboids. Funny thing is..it had been 4 full days since I had even worked these muscles in the gym.
Now what? I think as I lay on the couch with my head propped, my arm gripped to my side..buzzing on muscle relaxers and pain killers…feeling like a beached whale..a severely injured beach whale.
Clean up your diet was my only solution. So I have spent the last week getting all the junk back out of my diet. It has helped with the emotional part of recovery.
This week, I started back to the gym doing cardio. I figured it was safe to get back on the treadmill since I have officially been off pain medication since Saturday….
Tomorrow, I am going to work legs..
