I felt fine today and slept in extra to make sure. I went into the gym tonight and did five deep squats with 225 on the smith machine. I quit after five because I felt whoozy. Then I did 20 deep squats on the smith machine with 135 and then ran on the treadmil at 7-7.5 until my left calf shot with sharp pain and I had to stop. Then I started the Crossfit Linda with Nicoles weight and did ten deadlifts with 185 and then ten squat cleans with 95 and then benched 120 ten times. I could barely bench the 120 ten times. Then I did nine dead lifts and three squat cleans before I felt like I was about to pass out so I quit.

I haven’t been eating for the last week and so I’m running on empty. When I was in the locker room my whole body started shivering like I was freezing under the sheets with a 104 degree fever. I think my body was like, "OK lets take calories out of this guys muscles if he wants to play".  What I need to do is stuff my face from now until the next time I work out tomorrow night.

I felt a little bit better today than yesterday. I went into the gym today to soak in the steam room. It wasn’t very steamy in there and this guy came in and said "If I want muggy I would just go back to Houston," and asked me if my Hi C that I got from Wendy’s was mine and I said "yes" and he glared at me and left and came back with newspaper filled with water and popped it over the plastic box which turned on the steam. It got really steamy in there and he goes "I knew how to turn it on but I don’t know how to turn it off". The he goes "Yeah a couple of your ice cubes would have turned it on". I would have said I had Hi C but I was busy pouring ice into my mouth. It felt great to soak in the steam room and sauna. I think tomorrow might be the last day that I’m sick.

I’m sick today. I think maybe sicker than yesterday. I found something I can do though. I got the idea to map out on google earth my whole trip and have each photo four miles which is about how far we can go in an hour I’m thinking. I also want to put 255 numbers in my new sat phone. I think I can do that.

I’m still sick today but I feel better today than yesterday. I’m looking forward to squating 225 on the smith machine and doing deep squats with like 150 lbs just as soon as I’m able.

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

It’s 4:45 in the afternoon and I just now managed to wake up. I feel acky all over and feverish and my mind is fuzzy. I got the asthma under control though thank God. After going on a wild goose chase all over town and coming up empty handed I decided to give the Walgreens one block from my house another go and low and behold they had three! They said before some drug addicts stole the last of what they had so they must have had some more stored somewhere. These Salbutamols are the last of the prescription free inhalers in America they say and they stopped making them. So I guess I have to make these last three last me until I leave the country and when I come back I’ll have to get a prescription from some Doctor which will really piss me off but that’s in the future so I won’t worry about that now.

So no weight lifting for me today and probably not tomorrow anyway. I can’t remember the last time I was sick so maybe this is some kind of spring cleaning or something. I hope I didn’t get sick from something that I did wrong.

Yeah so I’m sick as a dog today. I’m looking for inhalers because I could be sick from my survaval asthma attacks. I was up for like an hour or more at the crack of dawn doing all I could just to survive. My asthma pills don’t help. I’ve been to like three pharmacies so far and none of them have them on the shelves now so I’m making a map of all the pharmacies in Austin and I’ll make the rounds and hopefully one of them will have some, in which case I’ll buy like five and then stash them all over the house so I don’t have to worry about losing them again.

Yeah I have the fever and diahrea. Maybe that last part was too much information. I feel like hell. Maybe I haven’t been drinking enough water  for the 160 grams of protein I’ve been consuming daily. That much protein is new to me. Maybe I got food poisoning from the Mexican burrito place.  I don’t think I will be able to work out today. I’ll stretch instead if I have it in me.

I’m borderline sick today. I don’t know why. It could be from some possible overtraining, underleeping or even undernourishment. I’ve been living off of vegetable soup for the last week. Maybe I need more fat in my diet. I could order a pizza today. I’m not going to work out today. I’ll go to the gym with my roomate but I’ll just sit in the steam room.  I hopoe I’m ok tomorrow.

I slept from six to one today so I got like seven hours sleep but I still feel under rested. I went to the gym today and pumped it for an hour but felt not at %100 so I think it would behoove me to not go back to the gym today and let my body recover as it hasn’t felt recovered for weeks now. I did 20 full squats with 135 but they weren’t constant. I did a few ab excersizes and bicep stuff and that 10×10 excersize that I learned from Cathy Vail on the sitting hamstring maching. I think it was 120 lbs or something with good form.

I was telling this super cute trainer today about my trip and she said I should buy the DVD’s called "I can’t beleive I’m alive". She said they were shows about people who got stranded in the ocean and entoxicated themselves with sea water and were like, "I’m going to my car to get something, I’ll be right back," and swam out into the ocean and got eaten by sharks right in front of their friends. I’ll look for it on youtube.

I know what I need do to get my sleep and appetite back so I’ll make the adjustments and be back on track in a couple days. I should slow it down though because I stopped gaining weight and actually lost five pounds this week from 186 to 181 so I’m probably getting weeker too.

Oh well. I’m just starting out and everyone should know what overtraining is so they know where their limits are.

I got like three hours of sleep last night. I’m just too into the book and scanning I guess. I woke up this morning from an asthma attack. Come to think of it that’s the whole reason I’ve been getting three or four hours of sleep a day. I’ve been getting asthma attacks at the crack of dawn like a half hour after I get to sleep and then I’m just laying there. The other day I went to Wallgreens at like four in the morning because both of my inhalers disapeared and theirs had been stolen and weren’t going to stock more and today I went to two places and neither of them had them, however they said as the supermarket that they will restock them tomorrow.

 I felt debilitatively under rested today but had a brief spell of feeling OK at like ten so I went to the gym.  I have a new method now. Instead of watching girls on my mp4 I watch them on youtube and write down what they do and then do it the next day. It saves a lot more time that way and the girls on youtube are generally stronger than the ones I downloaded off of herbiceps.com and those other sites. 

I was going to see if I could beat Nicole in the Crossfit Linda but after I set up the weights this kid poached me. That was at eleven so I guess if I want to do that excersize I have to come in after midnight. 

 I started with 19 year old Jessica’s squats where she does ten front squats and ten dead lifts with 235 without touching the ground. The front squats are harder than I though they would be. You need good form. When I first got a membership I asked that super hot trainer Nikki to rate my phisique and she had me hold my arms above my head and do squats and she said I needed to stretch my lats more. She said I leaned them too far forward when I went down. I’ll stretch my lats and maybe I’ll have better form with the front squats and squat cleans.

Then I did Cathy Vails workout. Ten deep leg presses with eight plates followed by ten half squats with 185 and then ten sets of ten leg extension with 90 lbs with 15 seconds between sets. That was rough! I think she did it with better form than me. I’ll have another look. If I had the time I would record these chicks right off of youtube and put them on my mp4. Youtube should include that feature. I’d totally be down with people having my videos on their personals. Why the heck not. That’s freedom to me. I won’t get into explaining it now though.  Anyways, then I did 10 closed grip pullups, 10 BB bent over rows with 125, DB pulldowns 60 X 12, she did 10 dips with 45 lbs but they don’t have that weight holder so I did 20 instead, lying french press 85 X 10, overhead rope extension 60 X 10 which I found light, incline DB Press 65 X 10, three sets of DB press 65 X 10,  Cable cross overs 75 X 10 which I found easy. I love that one. I need to do it and squeeze my pecs and get them caught up with my back and shoulders, 10 sets of 10 pushups. She forgot to say how long betwee the sets though, hammer rows 125 X 10 although I forgot what she meant so I did 225 for both arms, and bar rows 105 X 10.

After that her work out was over and I was feeling that lack of sleep feeling again so I left. I don’t know exactly how long I was there. I should go to the other 24 hour fitnesses in Austin  and see if there are any strong girls working out there. I might as well take advantage of this all club membership that I accidentally spent an extra $100 on. Hopefully I’ll get some sleep tonight and be able to work it good tomorrow.
