Help I PUFF UP!!!
so it seems after each show i do my body rebels afterward by puffing up. now im not talking about holding a little water i mean 17-19 pounds two days after and edema that took me to the hospital the first time. My body gets completly sore to touch and feels like it is going to literally POP when i work out. Does anyone know of an experience like this or why? the first time i thought it was b/c i depleted my water then overcompensated afterward and drank to much to fast and my body didnot know what to do but then the next time i didnt have that much and drank alcohal b/c i felt the adh would suppress and i would not hold. atleast this is happening after my shows but still it sets me back like 2 weeks b/c i cannot see progress from all the water weight!

Hey girl, sorry I can’t help you with that, I have never done a contest. Contest prep is pretty extreme though, so I would imagine that pretty extreme post contest results are not out of the ordinary…
Speaking of extreme, I am amazed by your squat #! I showed it to my wife because she has been afraid to lift heavy but I knew that she would want legs like yours (which she did). She was funny and called BS on your profile! Anyway you could post some squat or heavy leg press pictures or video to prove her wrong?
Keep rocking.

Hi….you just sent me a friend invite. I’ve done 6 shows and never gained that much…the average person will gain that over 4-6 week period, if that much. I think you must be eating entirely too much food w/ high sodium and sugar content. 19 pounds in 24hrs. is usually seen in super large male bb’s not someone your size.

Hi! I have done 4 shows, and after my first two I gained about 20 lbs in 2 months! I have learned from my mistakes. I now have an off season diet, that I stick to, with one cheat meal a week. I suggest taking a few days off, and enjoying some treats, then getting back to the foods that your body is accustomed to.

I have the same problems, it feels terrible. For contest preps i have been sticking to very low carb diet up until the day before the show then carb load. Then after the show i will eat everything in sight in and i think it is just all the carbs, water, and sodium rebounding on your body. Not sure though. But im definately going to try to switch my diet around in the future because it feels so bad those few days after the show. Anyways, good luck!
