Okay, so I am not getting ready for a show. Instead, I am maintaining my size and trying to improve my run time and increase my sit ups and push ups reps for my APFT coming up in 4 weeks. As for my last Pt test, I completed 70 push ups in 2 minutes, 56 sit ups in 2 minutes, and 2 mile run in 15:06. My goal is to rep 85 push ups, 80 sit ups, and run 14:30. As for competing again, that wont happen until the fall of 2009. I do want to gain some more muscle maturity and some thickness before starting another diet.

Now that the show is over, I ask myself, "Am I up to doing another?" I have been wrapped up in this fitness world and it just keeps sucking me in. I love the feeling of watching my muscles pump and my veins swell with that fresh oxygenated blood that drives the weight to another, then another rep! The feeling I get when my heart pounds like a drum as I finish with yet another intense cardio. Each step on the treadmill, each rep forced, each bite of fish and asparagus just sets me closer to competition worthy. The sleepless nights, the weakness all day long until I put my mind to the iron that will sculpt my physique, and the friends and family that are there to support, and sometimes detour me from my training, and not to mention the large quantities of gum chewn…yes, I am ready for another show!

I am 8 weeks out from my show and I am feeling a little more confident than last year. However, I still need a lot more size in my arms and of course there’s always alterations you want to make in your physique. I am happy though with the outcome so far.

My biceps are not getting any stronger but seem to be getting more defined. The size is the same but looking in the mirror, I am a little satisfied. My back is growing wider and getting stronger. If only my arms can get bigger too. Still a work in progress. I am happy with my results tho and don’t want to push myself too much or get selfish. As long as I have my health I’m happy.

So far my training has been great. Making gains and not losses. My arms are growing and my back is growing faster than anything. I am getting more sleep and taking creatine on a regular basis. I am keeping a journal and making sure that I am lifting more weight or more reps with every workout! Going well!

I have to harden my glutes for next spring. That is my major problem area and I have started training legs 2xweek to add more muscle and hopefully firmness. I have an awesome trainer and I know he can help me with this problem. My weakness however is I do like to have a cheat meal once a week during my off season and I hope that is not undoing ,my hard work during the other 6 days.
