The most frequently asked question I receive from random people..."do you workout?" Um...yep. Like every day. But I always add to my answer something about the importance of nutrition..."your diet is 80% or more of how you look!"
So then I get the next question..."so what do you eat? Like nothing??" Oh contrar mofrar...I eat a lot..6-7 times a day to be exact. People are always shocked by this, but in the world of health and fitness, we all know that eating every three hours and making sure you have plenty of lean protein, complex carbs, and good fats is essential to building lean muscle and staying lean.
My nutrition plans depend on my goals...of course when I'm preparing for a competition, the plan is much more restricted..but when I'm in the mode I'm in now, its more about eating healthy and balanced to feel and look good.
Below is a sample day for me:
7:00am hot water with lemon
7:30am coffee with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and 1 slice of Ezikiel toast with 1 tbsp of almond butter and 1/2 cup egg whites
2 Astravar and 1 scoop of N.O. 370
10:30am 1 cup egg whites with veggies and 1/2 cup oats with 1/4 cup blueberries or 1/2 banana and 6 almonds
1:00pm 4 oz grilled chicken on a HUGE salad. 4 oz sweet potato
4:00pm 1 cup plain Greek yogurt with stevia and 6 almonds plus 1/4 cup strawberries
7:00pm 5 oz tilapia with steamed veggies
10pm SoyXtreme chocolate protein shake with ice and water plus 6 almonds.
I LOVE my weekly cheat meal that always includes frozen yogurt...and I sneak in a square of dark chocolate every night!!
