I have been doing a 21 day fast
I have been doing a 21 day fast with my church. The fast started on Friday, January 2, 2009 and will end on Thursday, January 22, 2009. January 2nd - January 15th was vegetables, fruit and liquids. January 16th - January 22nd was liquids only. I’ve decided not to train with weights during the last week. Besides the spiritual benefits of fasting I’m curious about the physical benefits. Thus far, I have noticed that I have lost about 5 lbs, my abs have become more visible and my skin is clearer. I know fasting is not something we as people or bodybuilders want to do, but are there physical benefits to fasting? I’m curious to see if my body will respond better to supplements, food and weight training. Do you have any experience with fasting? What was the outcome? I would like to know your opinion.

Wow praise God! Glory to Him with your sacrifice! Something that bb’s would never be able to do… I have fasted before, but way before I was working out, so I don’t know what it’s like when you workout. I would really like to know your outcome, keep me updated! you have my respects. =]

A good ebook about fasting is "eat stop eat" by bad pilon. I have just started to work out. But, he has a lot of good things to say about fasting for losing weight, boosting growth hormone, and detoxifying, etc.
