"A Wise Man Learns by the Mistakes of Others, a Fool by His Own"
We’ve all heard this quote before. But often forget how fitting to our life it’s is. I’ve always tried living my life learning from the mistakes of other. Trying not to repeat them. Or doing everything I can to prevent them from happening.
I’m approahed by people on a daily basis about my diet and fitness routine. Understandable. If want to acheive result,s walk in the footsteps of those that have already gotten them. But what I’ve discovered is the justification as to why they where not able to maintain their ideal physique. " I have kids and not enough time to train". " I’m travel alot because of my job and "have to" eat a fast food place." " when I was younger. I could eat whatever I wanted and not get fat."
Those are just o few that I get. So how do I prevent myself from falling into the same category in the future. By doing what as much as I can now. Training my body and my mind to become accustomed to a fit and healthier lifestyle. That way, once I get older, I won’t have to think about what I’m going to eat, whether or not if I trained today, or if I look good in what I’m wearing
.
If k you have kids. I will use them as my motivation to be healthy because I want them to be aswell. If I know I will be traveling a lot. Then I’ll prepare all my meals ahead of time. And if my metabolism slows down when I get older. I need to learn NOW how to eat properly.
I encourage people to let me in on all the mistakes that they have made. Because it will make me better now and in the future.

When you first purchase a house. What are some of the thing that you do after. Buy furniture, to beautify it. Maybe start some remodeling and minor renovations. And even lawn and yard maintenance. We do these things simply because purchasing a home is an investment in your future. And after all that time and money you spent, searching for homes, getting mortgage approvals, and fighting litigations, you will do anything to protect your investment.
So why is it, that many people, after spending hours, days, weeks, months in the gym, decide to throw it all away to indulge in something that will regress their already achieved results. i can’t imagine why anyone would succumb to self-sabotage.
Yesterday was my birthday. And i received numerous gifts, which i am very thankful for. But, i can not stand it when im offered cake over and over again. "Come on Kizzito. Its your birthday. You can have one piece." No, I can’t. Because all that will do is negate everything i worked to achieve. Don’t try to convince me that eating crap on my birthday will not effect me. Maybe it won’t. But i will not allow that gilded pleasure enter the temple that i worked so hard to create.
I work hard everyday to get to where i am now. And I will deny anything that will ruin my investment. I know that the holidays are just around the corner, so that means we will all be tried and tested even more. But remember this. The strong mind will always triumph over the weak. Which one will you be?

So today, at the gym, I was approached by one of the personal trainers. I’ve spoken to this man many times before. But this time, I got a little annoyed. Internally of course. First of all I was wearing my don’t f*@& with me headphones. But i guess he didnt notice.
The conversation started out with him asking me what I take to stay so fit. First of all, there is nothing I am taking that we all haven’t heard. Whey, glutamine, bcaa etc. Then he started asking when I took these things. Again a pretty straight forward question. Here’s where things got interesting. He then asked me if I new of any ways to cheat In order to build size.
I couldn’t help but laugh inside. If there was any easy way to build size and stay lean, then everyone would do it. In stood there with him for 10 minutes trying to convince him that the best way is to STAY CONSISTENT.
Why is that people always create an excuse or justification as to why they don’t have results.
suggestion: "try waking up early and complete one workout."
excuse: " I can’t do that i party to late and like sleeping in"
suggestion: "try liftin heavier weight then you did last session"
excuse: " I would, but whenever I do that my shoulder , back or legs hurt. "
suggestion: "Try packing your food instead of going to the drive through."
excuse:" no way. I don’t have time for that"
Excuse after excuse. No this lifestyle isn’t easy at first. It takes time to create a good habit. We can learn bad habits on our own. But repetition we breed builds habits. Don’t make excuses or try to find a shortcut because neither of those things will give you lasting positive results.
Happy training.
