CARDIO

At the moment i’m doing cardio 3 times a week.

Monday i do interval training 35mins 1 min work/2 mins working rest.

Wednesday i do a steady paced run on treadmill for 40 mins

Friday same as monday.

I have only recently started this as all 3 days were just a steady run,but wanted to make it a bit more intense.

I am trying to lose body fat so thought making it more intense would work better.

Any thoughts on this,What do most people do for their cardio?

 

SQUATS

I dropped the weight on my squats today as my knees have played up the past couple of weeks.

I found it to actually be a good thing as i managed to get a deeper squat and a better burn on my legs,I always thought that i took them deep enough as it always took me around 2 days to recover.

But today i could feel it hit them alot more and was really working on the drive to get back up,so hopefully this will help to add some good size and strength to my legs.

KNEE WRAPS

Over the years of playing rugby my knees have taken a battering,i have damaged both medial ligaments ,

Although they don’t bug me all the time when they do its a pain.

Today struggled to go right down for squats and was wondering if using these would take some pressure off my knees to allow me to get full squats and add weights,

they are not quite ready for surgery yet.

any advice on this ??

supplement advice!!

The only supplement i really take every day is whey protein ,

can any of you please advise me on other supplements i should add to my intake to help with my goals in adding muscle,and losing bodyfat

I take the protein shakes before and after my workouts.

any help with this would help me greatly.

Just reloaded the ipod with some new tunes for my workouts,and was intrested in what other people trained to

i have one list for gym workouts and another for my cardio,

Gym- i have tunes from guns&roses,AC/DC,rage against the machine,the ramones/the list goes on .

Anything that has a hard fast sound to keep me pumped and working.

Cardio-This slows down a bit to keep me pacd with my running

Whats other people listen to?

Help Wanted

Just looking for a bit of help,

I go to the gym in my lunch hour and am asking for a bit of help of when i should be having my lunch or how i should place my meals so i can gain the most from them.At the moment my meals are -

Meal 1 -7am -egg whites and porridge

Meal 2-10am-1/2 tin tuna with 2 slices grain bread

prework out 12pm- protein shake and banana

gym 12.30-1.30

post workout-protein shake and bottle of gatorade

Meal 3-2pm- chicken breast and sweet potato

Meal 4-3.30pm fat-free fruit yoghurt

Meal 5-5.30pm chicken breast,brown rice,green salad

Meal 6-8-8.30pm cottage cheese,porridge,

Does this seem o.k or should i change some things around,

also at the moment the only supplement i take is whey protein,should i be adding others in .

any help or pointers in the right direction would be a huge help

 

 

first week done!!!

This week was the first week into my new training regieme,and has being great.

Could tell i had not being in the gym for a while (3 wks),Weights had gone down and body is sore but thats a good thing means i’m working.

Have lost 1.5kgs which is a start

Still have two days of cardio to do over the weekend.

Have felt good and fresh each time i have gone to the gym and am looking forward to continuing my journey.

Have 11wks to go before my photo .

Blog Entry

Well it all starts for me tomorrow ,

The start of a new work out programme and biggest of all a new diet that i am going to stick to with no sidetracking.

I made a promise to myself on new years day that there is to be no more bullshitting myself no more excuses,that i Dwayne Jackson will put my heart and soul on the line and do this thing.

Doing the gym work i have no hassle with ,it’s the diet side so like i said no more excuses.

We are having a family photo taken in March and my wife wants me to have one done with my two little boys in black and white with my shirt off,

So i can not fail at this otherwise totall embaressment,but awsome motivation for me.

I will be making the most of this website this year and recording everything and uploading my progress pics.

I will hit this head on and tak no backward steps,my goals are to lose body fat and put on muscle

It all starts tomorrow at 6am with a 45min run so

BRING IT ON
