Rationale
Friday, January 26th, 2007Entering a competition, for me, has several purposes, and is not just about seeing if judges think I have a better body than someone else.
1) We all read, see, hear, how after 40 years old, gaining muscle is not easy. So that’s part of my motivation. Can a guy my age get not just ripped, but big.
2) Since purchasing my Bowflex, I’ve heard a number of statements, such as, "That’s all hype", "Those things don’t really work", "They’re only good for toning up", etc. I want to see how much muscle the machine can help me get. (see no. 1)
3) I got my personal training certification, so this is a self test of the concepts I sudied to get certified.
4) It’s a culmination of my body change that started two years ago
5) A decent showing, putting 1-4 in place, will hopefully attract clientelle.
So, as I put together my diet and training for the pre-contest weeks, it’ll be about all the above coming together.
