Gym Pet Peeves

So, I was at the gym earlier. The past two months have been tough due to my cardio regime getting turned up a few knotches. But, I have found some pet peeves that just wear me out.

First, is the "I gotta have my Ipod" person–you know that guy/girl that gets nothing done because they are so focused on their ipod that they forget about the workout itself. Usually, they interrupt you to do like two sets. Just plain irritating.

Second, is the "I need this fan" person–usually in the cardio section is where I find this person. And not to be mean, but they are usually not in shape, unless round is a shape. But, they always ask if u are using it. I always tell them to take it if its not on. Wears me out.

Third, is the "Why didn’t you wipe down your machine" person–usually the guy that isn’t working our hard. I find that these guys typically don’t understand the premise of a gym. They are too worried about cleaning up after themselves that they end up lifting the rag instead of some iron.

Fourth, is the "Its a 50 outside, but I’ll still wear my skin tight tank and shorts" person–sorry but I got to workout for myself. So, there is no need to strike a pose or flail around in a wife beater to try to catch the attention of the girls. I love this guy, for comedic relief only.

Finally, is the "Cell phone is attached" person–my personal favorite here. This is the guy/girl that just can’t put the phone down. Usually, working out or on the cardio and talking up a storm. And, when they get a call, they have to yell "I’m at the gym" so everyone knows they are on the phone. I love this person. If this is you, I am the guy at the back that is laughing at you a**!!

Anybody know of a good gym in the New Orleans area—preferably down by the Superdome area?  I am heading that way in the morning and need a good place to workout for three days. Any help would be appreciated.

Traveling & Working Out

Anybody else find it hard to travel for business and workout?? I have the hardest dang time one, trying to find an adequate gym, and two, finding time out of my schedule to get it all done. I am always let down by the minuscule training equipment hotels have. Makes me laugh everytime they show me the gym with their "state of the art" facilities. They have no clue what I am looking for.

However, this next week I am going to New Orleans. And you can bet your a** I am staying at a Hilton. They have a new GYM in there hotel down in the French Quarter. The gym takes up most all of the second floor. You can’t beat that. Plus they offer a free 30 min massage if you show up in the gym. I think I can make time to go from the fourth floor to the second. HAHA.

Anyone else have a solution to help you workout while on the road??

Carb Watching/Decreasing

Anyone have any good tips on how to cut or decrease the amount of carbs per day. Just tallied up for this week and I am averaging 160-170 per day. What is the right amount?

Just saw the latest deal on whey cheap is Nutrex Mass XXplosion. Anyone have an opinion on this product?? I am currently taking MRI Black Powder and thought I would see how Mass XX worked.

Anyone have a piece of advice on this product??

Favorite Shrug…

So this morning was shoulder/bi’s. I got to thinking about the many ways you can perform a shoulder shrug and wanted to know what some people thought was the best…rolling front to back, rolling back to front, no roll just a shrug, dumbbell or barbell, inside the diamond,etc…you get my point. So let me know which way you see the best results.

Lipo 6 or Hydroxy??

I am trying to figure out which product to buy. Anybody have a good idea as to which one works better? My workout schedule is hit and miss, either 3-4 times a week, or 1-2 times a week due to business travel. Diet is pretty much chicken with a little red meat.

Sunday (Driving) Lifting

I hit the gym yesterday wanting to get a good workout in. For the past week I had slacked some due to traveling four days out of the week and taking Saturday off to recuperate. So, I go in to the gym with the right mindset. I want to get a good pace going for cardio, then hit up the chest, then move over and get some tri’s done. Then back for a last round of cardio……then…..

It seemed like everyone was out to stop my plan. First, most of the treadmills were taken. So, I jumped on one at the very back away from everyone else. That is where the good luck fell apart for me. After about 20 mins, I head over the the weight area/room. Only to find about 10 high school aged guys in there flexing their stick muscles in the mirror. NOW, let me stop and explain myself. I am in no way saying that any aged (young or old) male or female should not be in the gym. I like seeing those guys there. But, flexing their muscles and taking up half the room. Come on dude! Finally, after getting a good pace going–and almost taking out a few–I got done with my chest. Suddenly, I realised there was no way I was going to get my tri’s done. ALL of those high school guys had every dumbbell out and scattered. My head about came off when I saw the destruction of weights they had created. Seriously, it looked like their room at home or something. Pissed me off. No respect for others.

Finally, I gathered my anger put it into a good tri workout. Jumped on the treadmill for another 25 mins. And left.

Without incidnet too. But, when I got done they were still flexing in the mirrors. Not sure they got but two or three sets done.

Any help for the next time. I am pretty sure, I would have said something if I hadn’t of taken some MRI black powder that made me extremely focused on my goal.

Great Workout…Sh!tty Ending

Everything at the gym was going great.  Had split workout with back and calves.  Blew the both out.  Then it all went downhill.  I went to the front to grab my keys from the key holder, and suddenly realized they weren’t there.  Oh Sh!t.  Yeah some @sshole straight up jacked my keys.  And no one saw them or even had a clue.  The guys working the front aren’t small either. Good part about it was my truck was still in the parking lot. The guys at the gym are going to try to figure out who took them and find out how to get them back. It wouldn’t be that bad if my keys didn’t have my house, work, and plenty of other helpful keys.

Oh well, we will deal with the jack@ss tomorrow.
