Caffeine/Soda Overload
I need help getting off sodas/caffeine/sugar products? Anybody have a good idea to help me? I have about 16 oz of dr. pepper in the mornings and I am not one to shy away from sweet tea either. But, I cant break through to under 12% bf for some reason.
Please help!

If you need caffeine then drink some black coffee (not Starbucks crap loaded with calories and sugar either). And if you want to sweeten it a little…use splenda. SODA BAD!

I kicked the soda habit years ago and now only drink coffee and water. I have about 4-6 cups of coffee a day and probably 8-10 cups of water. Also 1 cup of milk in a protein shake.
I suggest switching from Dr. Pepper to black coffee. That will eliminate the sugar part at least.
If you want off both sugar and caffeine you may want to start by quitting sugar first. Cold turkey for both at the same time would be difficult. Then wean yourself off of the caffeine.
I’m not an advocate of the sports drinks either. Waste of money and they still have sugar.
Good luck.

are you drinking at least a gallon of water a day? if not you should start that habit, it will help you…and the soda/caffeine and sugar products…hmmm…you are probably craving those things for energy in the mornings, so to replace them you could try a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil…it gives you energy and is healthy for you…when I was doing that I lost my morning craving for coffee and didn’t need any sugar/caffeine!

I had this same issue a few years ago- I basically just quit cold turkey…it sucked cause I got headaches all the time, but black coffee is a great substitute if you feel that you absolutely need some caffeine!

yes, i agree with light_v2: go to www.sweetleaf.com and order yourself some stevia. it is twice as sweet so you can you less but it is NOT a sugar substitute. it is all natural from a plant, which of course the fda has limited our attention to it. it has 0 carbs, 0 calories, etc.

and DONT use Splenda. A good friend was tested by multiple doctors for years for severe horrible MS symptoms and just a couple months ago she found out it was Splenda all along.

Hey bud…the sodas are adding a lot of calories in the form of simple sugars, which make your insulin spike, which will contribute to bodyfat.
I used to drink (I kid you not) a half-case of Mountain Dew every day. One day I simply decided to stop and I had the WORST headache for two days straight. It might not be a good thing to quit cold turkey, so I’ll recommend dropping one can of soda every 2-3 days until you are off of it so that your body can adjust.
If you absolutely need soda, I recommend drinking caffeine-free diet Coke. Yes, it tastes like ass, but it’ll give you a soda-fix while sparing you the calories and caffeine. Also, you should check out soda-alternatives like Fresca. I hated it as first, but there’s almost nothing in it and the taste grows on you…that is, if you absolutely have to drink a carbonated beverage.
Good luck!
