yeah. i hate it. however, ive been on a honey baked ham kick. I do complete keto-dieting with a limited amount of vegetables per day and a handful of dark chocolate m&m’s for immune system function (I swear by it. I never get sick & I seriously give this trick all the credit)..and the fact that I always seem to need a bit of chocolate before bed. I checked my freezer and found honey baked ham in there! um keto dieters DREAM! I picked off all of the visible fat and wiped off the visible glaze/coating and chomped away…totally a good change from eggs and turkey sausage and all of that. My boyfriend wanted Cici’s pizza today bc we had buy 1 get 1 free…ugh salad bar. =( made me sad. so i got a piece of pepperoni roll up thing and picked the whopping 3 pieces out of it and ate that, and had a piece of hot sauce pizza with chicken…and picked off the teaspoon of cheese and the 1 ounce of chicken and ate that. lol. and left all of the rest! O=)

here’s a comment to me from docdru:
Wow a diet that sucks, sounds very familiar when I read contest blogs. I’m gonna ask you this question cause I know you’ll give it to me straight, you seem like that kinda girl. Why put yourselves through the torture of not eating the things you love, having headaches, and being moody just so you can impress a few judges only to bloat up 10-15lbs a few days later? I’m just totally lost in the sauce. I guess I don’t have the mind frame of 90% of this site, but I’m looking for some logical answers here. Hoping you can help me out. Sorry if this comment has offended you or anyone else out there in the competition world, just trying to make sense of it all.
and my response:
haha yes i am that kind of girl…anyways, i do it because
1) i’m not afraid to get fat in the offseason
2)…by eating whatever the f*ck i want
3) I always keep cheat meals in my diet-even in contest, once a week
4) I will just do more cardio. i study while i sit on the little bicycle, so it’s either i do it at home or do it at the gym
5) I am not as crazy/ocd as most of the women on here. lol.
Im not the cliche figure competitor. I can’t explain why the majority do what they do! I enjoy trying new things, tweaking diets, and lifting just to lift. I dont mind cardio-I’ve run two marathons in the past & like 5K’s. I could go into a show & place last but think I look the best out of every competitor! Its nothing more than a hobby of mine.

Back to dieting tomorrow. i’m not going to weigh myself until next sunday bc I am sure this weekend was a setback, but I am sure by next sunday I can lose what i gained plus some more! keep posted-xoxo

Big weight loss hit the scales today-136 [after a double lift + double cardio sesh && before i got home from the gym, had a few sips of regular pop not noticing it was regular until “wow this tastes really good!”-we never usually keep regular! and before i ate my turkey cutlet]. yeah baby whattt! I am completely psyched to be losing so much so fast-the dieting (strictly keto, NO vegetables , low to moderately low fat, low calorie…basically sucks ass) is working wonders like it should. I knew that this season I have to come in as perfect as possible, even though that means being smaller than normal-if the judges at the Natural Ohio want 115, then sobeit I come in at 115. Only 21 more pounds to go! I am trying to slough off as many of those as I can as early as I can, so all I have to do is maintain and condition until I look pristine! I am still lifting heavy thru this incredibly strict dieting phase so I can keep as much muscle as possible after taking the 2 months off and atrophying the proper amount-I don’t want to atrophy any more! I am proud of starting the new year at 145 and already am 9 pounds lighter…woo hoo! I am hoping I will be in contest shape by the beginning of March (or even better, end of February for the ARNOLD & so I can pick me up some sponsors). This contest prep everything will turn out exactly like I wanted my last one to. =)

I was on the late Amanda Jo Savell’s Myspace page recently & this made me think about how lucky we are to be here and given such awesome opportunities! She was gorgeous and although I never had the chance of meeting her, seemed like a beautiful person.
This also brings me to my most favorite figure competitors out there today-National level and pro level- Felicia Romero, Lisa Person, Vanessa Adams, and Akane Nigro-Ismael

I think mine tops the list. I am a chew-and-spit-outter! Obviously not the good for me foods, but if I want a cupcake I’ll have a cupcake (Hostess ones are so yummy) & when I’m done chewing, spit it out. I have done this with all sorts of foods..pizza last nite, a brownie…it’s so weird. But my body thinks I’m eating it however I’m really not-it’s crazy! and it works =) but yes if anyone else had weird eating quirks let me know!

Back into the swing of things…finally! After taking those 2 months off (nov thru jan), it was weird getting back into it again. Now that I have been lifting and dieting for a week, I am ready to add in my cardio starting tomorrow and be on my way. I am 11 weeks out from my first show of this year and I am more than excited!! I need to keep track of my food intake though, so I will on here. And i need to do it consistently. Today I had 3 breakfast sausage links before I lifted legs, and a fiber1 bar after. I got a cheat meal tn since it’s SUNDAY!! i had a piece of pork roast, and 2 biscuits with butter, and some peas & a piece of apple spice cake with a little ice cream! so yummy! off to dieting again now. class starts tomorrow again, ew. But I am seriously cutting my calories -I have this past week and will this upcoming week because I went a hell of a lot overboard on my time off…like WHOAH wtf was I doing! lol. And also because my 21st birthday is this Thursday and I plan on having a little bit of fun this upcoming weekend (going out to eat, drinking Fri + Sat) and I have to make sure I stay completely on track. xoxo
p.s. - after creepin on here…benchmark01 ’s bodyspace to be more specific, I KNOW figure girls are anorexic now. wtf. look at her before & after progress pics on her main page and read the caption *i knew starving myself would pay off* (or something along those lines). are you f*cking serious right now??

Since winter is here, snowsports are the thing to do. I was a snowboard instructor at a local resort & have worked in ski school in the past, and snowboarding is one of my all time favorite activities. Getting to…*can snowboarding be counted as cardio? If so, how much?* It doesn’t really feel like a work out considering when I ride Ohio and there are no mountains, and the hills are like 500 feet long. no joke. lol.

I was reading a blog by someone saying that she is doing post-holiday 4 hours of cardio instead of being anorexic. A few lines down someone said that they could relate & yada yada…is this something that’s common in figure?
I am an honest athlete. I compete in one of the only pee-tested NPC shows, the Ohio drug tested ones. I have never taken any type of drug, rX diuretic, clen, winny…would never even think of it. I have heard through the grapevine that so many top figure names take such things without holding their tongue.
I am also curious about eating disorders & this field…I’m not familiar with it. I went through an “anorexic” bout 3 years ago and dropped 25 pounds due to cardio and lack of eating, however after the 4 or so months I was back to normal. I was also not lifting at the time. Now I could never see myself doing this sport with any sort of deprivement of nutrients-I love to lift heavy and hit the weights as best I can and when I want to cut, I do a lot of cardio every day. I still watch what I eat but if I want a freakin dessert once in a while, or I have to have a cheat meal, or if I want one other than on my cheat day I almost feel entitled to it. I control my diet, it does not control me…and that’s what it seems like a ton of these women in this world *which I may add is a COMPLETELY different world than any other athlete’s* have let it come down to.
When I last competed, the top 5 in my class as well as others had to be under 110 pounds. I competed in B [out of 4] (and I was the shortest by an inch, I was one of the last measured and A already had 20 or so girls so I should have been there but oh well) and the top 3 in my class were easily under 105. IS THAT WHAT FIGURE IS ALL ABOUT? Honestly? It’s seriously disgusting to see what these women look like up close. Maybe it was just this particular show, but I don’t understand how such sick-literally-looking girls could win a show like they did. With all of this, I was still the one who was offered a magazine spread out of all of them. Something is not right in this picture…

I can never fall asleep hungry. why? I will be up all night if I don’t put something small easily digestable & light in my tummy. its so weird_i seem to rely on a couple of nuts or a scoop of pb & a small piece of chocolate like a single hershey kiss & I will be out in no time, but during contest season I feel SO guilty for this. I know it is not really hurting me bc the calories are so extremely minimal but even if I eat veggies ill be wide awake! EW

Kim,
Other than Amir, I do not know any in Ohio. If you want….I will be at the April 4th show, and I can bring my camera..I have done many pics for mags in the past, but I will not be able to bring my lighting equipment. We can arrange to do a few pics during the intermission between pre-judging and the night show. Then…we can meet at a local gym on Sunday morning for a couple hours to get more pics.
It is always best to be in contest shape for the photos…ripped abs…etc. Remember…500 people will see you at the show, but 500,000 people in 5 diffferent countries will see your feature article. You need to be in top shape. The pro-tan will help…as long as it is applied correctly and does not become “blotchy” looking…your skin will look darker, and that makes you look leaner. If you want to do pics Sunday morning…that would give you a chance to shower and get some of it off.
Let me know what you want to do.
Mike
——————————————– ————————
A little background-I was scouted at my first & only show I have ever done last April by the emcee-the only one out of almost 200 women. I did not contact him because I was afraid I was a little bit too young and inexperienced and basically did not deserve something like this yet. Almost a year later I feel that I am ready and he is still eager to use me for this, however I am so so so nervous. I have never done a photoshoot, especially one for a large magazine. I’m scared to be honest. I would love it if you guys have some tips, helpful hints, words of encouragement…I don’t want to let him down, people who read mags for inspiration down, and most of all-I don’t want to let MYSELF down. This is the best & at the same time worst opportunity I have ever been given & I want to be able to look back and say “WOW. I could not have done better!” =) And also some stress relievers? I think my face will be green the entire 11 weeks until this…I could puke right now, I can’t imagine how I’ll feel right before it.

WHAT THE **** HAPPENED TO THE 1-PIECE?
I’m salty I spend a slight fortune one a suit that barely gets use and this new rule will be implemented AT MY FIRST SHOW OF 2009 to make room for skinny anorexic girls who should not be considering doing a contest like this ….and take up some of our hard earned stage time. This is just a bullshit way for the promoters to bring in more money. I look better in a 1 piece than a 2 piece anyways bc it compliments my lower body more! I am livid with this…as I’m printing out my entry form right now. Grr. I feel bikini is GREAT for a tanning oil contest like the Hawaiian Tropic, or like a Sports Illustrated, but not the IFBB!
What is going to happen at National shows-are they pulling 1 piece from those too?
Should I just sell my some-odd thousand dollar suit?
Are the judges going to judge figure differently now, with more muscularity positively rewarded-moreso than they have in the past?
i need answers! =)

I finally think I’m getting a hang of this not eating to detox my body deal. It’s the 4th day and the first one where I’m not constantly thinking about food-I’ve just kind of mentally accepted the fact that I won’t be eating any time soon (9.5 more days). I just can’t wait for Mexican food and my 21st birthday party (at a Mexican cantina, naturally) next Saturday night!! I’ve been worried about that gastrointenstinal effects of doing this, so I have been sure to eat only a fractional amount of calories a day of a variety of foods-simple sugars, potato, nuts, meat, and keeping water based broth from soups in. I am keeping the small amount of food in my diet so my digestive track is still working and when I go back to normal food I don’t end up with severe lifelong problems. Since I am supposed to be drinking those lemon drinks 6-12 times a day, which I am not because I don’t know why, anyways-the calories from the grade B maple syrup equal PER GLASS OF WATER, (2 tbsp) 100 calories. so if I had 6 glasses of water there would be 600 calories i would be consuming of pure sugar. 10 glasses = 1000 calories. I have not read anything on the effect of maple syrup specifically cleansing the body so I am guessing it is the calorie purpose and I’d rather eat something small so my digestion still works alright. That’s that for now…
i took yesterday off of lifting, will hit shoulders & arms today. & probably go snowboarding. =) x0- EDiT::Today I had a piece of ham, 1 whopping tiny dove chocolate square..or maybe 2 with about 1tsp of peanut butter. i don’t remember. & some chocolate covered pecans after I worked out. woo freakin hoo. day 4 = success! 9 more days unti margaritas and mexican food for dinner & DQ ice cream cake dessert as my wonderful birthday cheat meal, then on to my normal prep diet & cardio. =(I just took 4 MYO SHOCK HSP pills on an empty tummy (pre-workout supp. made by muscletech) and plan on working out in about an hour. They were in a free sample of 7 and it recommended to take 3 on day 1, 4 on day 2 or something…I’ll see how I like them. They are HORSE PILLS-SO BIG!! but hopefully they work out well since I hate the taste of pre-workout NO/creatine drinks; pills sound like a wonderful idea!
FRiDAY:: day later…myoshock was a good supp., kept my heart rate up in between sets-will possibly purchase. I got weighed again at the doctors, am up 2lbs? still on detox diet with under 200 cals a day…doesn’t make sense…today so far a had 1 chocolate covered pecan, 1 piece of canadian bacon, 1 almond & 1 fuze-a total of 90 calories. lol. and ive been lifting since i got weighed on tues. idk. i think anything thats in or on my body turns to muscle-it is so strange. Oh well. off to gag down my salt water then lift…xo was going to take a cheat meal & go off the master cleanse diet tn or tomorrow for having such a good week, however that will not be happening until next sat. I feel like a ****ing cow, and my intestines dont feel any cleaner DAMMIT! lol
I just weighed myself at the gym and without shoes im 138 exactly. WTF! this weight issue will never be resolved I guess- lol I have the most crazy rollercoaster rides on the scale which really can be nervewracking. Anyways, I’ve concluded that I think Like a bodybuilder in the sense that I LOVE OFF-SEASON / FAT-SEASON. it doesn’t bother me to get fat! THIS GIRL LOVES eating and cooking and getting her periods back and being a normal twenty-something girl who can eat what she wants when she wants & TOO DAMN BAD IF HER JEANS DON’T FIT! its easy to cut down in my opinion so why not indulge in dq and fast food and sushi and bagels? and dear god panera’s bacon & cheese egg souffles! =) yeah you can tell im hungry cuz all I can think about is food. ha! to end today diet-wise, before I lifted I did 20 mins (125 cal) worth of cardio & after I got home I had 6 whole cashews & a few bites of ham. maybe ill treat myself to another 25cal chocolate covered pecan before bed since im going riding tn! ha

So since I was scouted at my show last April, I have been putting it off and putting it off. I had just turned 20 and didn’t think I was ready to do anything like that…provocative or not, I still considered it risque. Now that I will be 21 and the guy still wants to use me, I will follow through with it. However…
5 YEARS AGO MY SENIOR PICTURES TURNED OUT LIKE SHIIII0T && I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IN THE HELL I AM AUTOMATICALLY GOING TO LOOK GOOD IN A NEW SET OF PRINTS. I have a pretty face but i am NOT photogenic whatsoever. I am being totally honest. I am SCARED. which leads me to:
DOES ANYONE FROM THE OHIO AREA KNOW A PHENOMENAL PHOTOGRAPHER?? I HAVE TO SEND IN MY OWN 330+ppi PRINTS TO THE WRITER & I HAVE NO IDEA WHO IS GOOD AROUND HERE. EMAIL OR MESSAGE ME PLEASEEEE!! THANKS SO MUCH. =)

send you messages curiously asking about a topic you seem to know about & that they are interested in, you tell them what you are knowledgeable about, and then they send you a response bashing/putting up a fight with what you just said? WTF!
First of all, if you want to know about something take the time to look it up yourself. If you are too lazy, ok-fine. Then ask someone who maybe had posted on blogs about the topic at hand that you have questions about, right? Now when you receive a response, if the person has facts/details/explanations, I would take their word for it. I would not, even if I had my doubts, respond back with negative remarks and counter everything said with something totally irrelevant! Maybe I should try it out for myself, or just trust in your fellow health fanatic! I cannot stand when this happens. I am no doctor but if you read previous posts of mine, I do have a broad knowledgebase and am always interested in learning about new things (and hell why not trying them!). I’m not an idiot, not harmful to my body, and completely natural. Have a wonderful day =)
p.s.-i think i will soon be known as the Bodyspace Bitch. it has a nice ring to it, dont you think?

im horrible at following this SHIT. i dont like lemon water, or syrup, so i seriously just don’t drink any of what im supposed to & instead diet pop. uggh. yesterday i had some swedish fish, a few tortilla chips/salsa, and a little chicken (i lifted again and felt i almost needed to…but there was prob only like 100,200 calories in that). ANYWAYSSSS
LiFTiNG:: I did atrophy, i lost like 7 pounds. and people told me i looked smaller at the gym yesterday!! =) =) alright now remember I am 5′2″ and 140 lbs….and i know i gained fatness (naturally, i didnt diet and lift for 2 months) but to drop 7 lbs i am SO happy. first off, i do not look like i weigh that much (I’m not one of those girls, honestly, that you’re probably thinking “omg she has no right on this site she is a fat cow-i know how girls think!..cuz i am not lol), i am very solidly built…if my camera didn’t eat shit i would post pics but i have none!
My lifting so far has been going like this-
M0N/LEGS
3 x 15 w/ 270 s.s. w. leg press single leg calf raise
1 x 15,10,8 w/ 135 smith squat s.s. w. single leg calf raise weak.lame.weak.lame.weak.lame.etc!
1 x 15,10,6 w/ 110 leg extensions. SHIIIT i am so weak EW!
1 x 10 w/ 55 straight legged deadlifts & like 3 lunges. lol.
TUES/BACK+CHEST
3 x 15,12,10 w/ 45,70,95 supported t-bar back rows
3 x 10? seated lat swings s.s. w. db bent over row
3 x 10? seated rows light weight
light weight lat pulldowns
3 pull ups
2 x 80,100 deadlifts s.s. back hyperextensions
3 x 10,8,4 w/ ?? light weight incline DB chest press
3 x 10? w/ ?? light weight incline DB flyes
1 x 10,2 w/ light weight flat DB chest press & flyes
well as you can see, I am a weakling now. seriously! I am so sore and just don’t have the strength (moreso ENDURANCE) that I did before my break, but it’s a good sore. I missed being sore! sort of. lol. ta-ta for now.

well lets see. yesterday i probably had a whole heaping 100 calories. grosssss! the recipe for the drink called for 2tbsp maple syrup per 8 oz water but instead of doing that i scratched the syrup and gave myself the power to have, like, a mini-snack. well i had a few tortilla chips with salsa and a little bit of ham and 4 chocolate covered pecans. FOUR. lol how lame. i counted. before i took the nyquil pills to knock me out. i still am lifting on this regiment so i think the teeeny calories won’t kill me ( and plus, all that syrup adds up in sugar! this could put me in ketosis if i keep away from a lot of sugar). day 2. will prob be easier! =) off to eat my lemons!

Day 1 of diet. ew. Every morning/evening until next Tuesday I will be drinking 1 quart(4 cups) of water mixed with 1 Tbsp sea salt or laxative herbal tea. From then on during the day I mix:
2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice, preferably fresh-squeezed from organic citrus (about half a lemon or lime)
2 tablespoons genuine Grade B maple syrup (not maple flavored syrup)
a pinch of cayenne pepper or to taste
8 ounces of water (many people recommend purified or filtered water) cold or at room temperature.
Mix all of the ingredients and drink. Burroughs recommends drinking between 6 to 12 glasses daily during the course of the cleanse. No food should be consumed, just drink whenever you are hungry.
I am doing ONLY an 8 or 9 day detox diet instead of the 10-14 days they recommend (one of the health risks is that normal eating may be impaired after the dieting is over and normal food is attempted to be digested again & a g-tube would be needed for the rest of my life. uhm no thanks.) And honestly I’m not sure wtf maple syrup has to do with this diet..sugary much? I can see the cayenne pepper increasing thermic effect of food (Metabolic Rate) but I think I will be okay laying off the syrup. PLus, I don’t like the taste of it. Oh well, let’s see how this works.
EDIT::well day one is almost over! and so far so good. I am a sucky diet follower and didn’t have lemons at home so I am still going on nothing to eat _and even worse, drink! but im actually on my way home from the store now with the yellow monsters. I have to say I will be using HOODIA to aid in suppressing my hunger. I will also be working out within reason -(LiFTiNG LiGHTLY & !NO! CARDiO)

Hi everyone! missed writing in this thing. Here’s the scoop so far:
I took 2 months off of everything. I needed to atrophy as much as possible. There is no way I can go into a state figure show looking like I can kick the female bodybuilders’ asses. I have lifted, most of the time, heavy. I enjoyed being able to keep up with the guys in the gym (well, the smaller ones. but you get my drift). In figure, the girls that are my height (around 5′2″) weigh 100, 110 pounds. I know I put on some hefty fatty fat fat, but I am totally fine with that (not like I can’t lose it).
I hate how these shows are judged. It makes me mad that I totally have to change my physique to conform to judges standards of what they think is appropriately proportioned. I loved my body in the fall when I mock dieted-I looked GREAT. in my opinion. But everyone was telling me I was just too big for figure. =(
Lifting will be as follows for my first of 3 month prep for my first 2009 show in April:
Day 1 = Heavy side shoulders, light front/rear shoulders, light biceps, calves, abs Day 2 = Limited back-pull ups(wide), seated rows, bent over rows; lower back, light triceps Day 3 = keeping same leg/butt workout, and for chest: only heavy pullovers, light incline bench (every other week), and light incline flyes
This keeps my lifting to 3 days a week-there is no possible way I can gain size doing this if I stick to moderate reps. I am also going to stick to doing sculpting exercises (esp. for my arms). This is a total change for me…I am not looking forward to it. Cardio will be 1 hour first month, 2 hours 2nd month, 3 hours 3rd month for the 1st 3 weeks (or equivalent to 500, 1000, 1500 calories burned accordingly).
Diet-wise, I am cutting my calories a lot more than I have in the past, I wanted to do a longer prep but due to other things just couldn’t. I am trying to get as small as possible for this contest-the top 5 in my class at this show last year were all under 110 (and I was the biggest in my class out of 15 girls). I know at national and pro shows judges look for different things, and if someone tells me to add some size for an upcoming contest that is NO PROBLEM for me. Give me 2 weeks and I can gain muscle. So for now, I am basically going to give them that anorexic/sick/muscles-barely-there-but-enough-to-win look that they want. I am cutting 35 pounds in 3 months…should be tough, but I know I can handle it. I am hoping to come in at 115. Too bad my 21st birthday is in 2 weeks!! And I am not giving myself cheat meals, I am strictly sticking to egg whites, broccoli, chicken, and ham with fat cut off. If I miss a meal, oh well. I want to catabolize this size. This is a huge, huge goal of mine. I know I can lose 8 pounds in a month keeping fat in my diet (strictly keto)…so I’m not worried.
Here’s the breakdown:
Week 1: I am detoxing. Sunday thru Saturday of nothing but liquids. No lifting or cardio. This should regulate my pH, hydrate my body, and cleanse my insides. I have heard wonders about this. (I am not, however, drinking nasty mixtures of only God knows what. lol.)
Weeks 2-4: Back to lifting on my 3 day split. Cardio begins. DAiLY iNTAKE: up to 24oz. chicken breats & up to 6 cups of broccoli. ; 800 calories per day, 142g protein, 35g carbs, 5.8g fat(1.3g sat.). Easy enough. As for now, this is what I will do for 12 weeks. Haven’t decided on carb-up yet, no carb up until first month is over since ketosis takes 3 weeks to come into full swing (going to monitor what effect the fast has on speed of ketosis)..yay acetone breath!! not. ew. This should have me losing exactly 9.2 pounds for the 3 weeks being on it.
Weeks 5-8: Possibly change the lifting up, cardio is upped to 2 hours. If diet stays, 13.2 pounds will be lost this month.
Weeks 9-11: Total of 12.9 pounds lost for these 3 weeks if diet still working, cardio upped to 3 hours.
I have never done such a low calorie diet before, but if I have to then sobeit. Keep you posted*
