2 Days after the show and Back to the grind

April 27, 2009

Alright so I completed my first show. It was an great experience and I look forward to doing another one in the future. I managed to take 2nd place in my weight division and then they pulled all of the male competitors on stage and did an audience poll by applause of who had the best legs and the best abs. I managed to win the best legs out of everyone so that was especially nice treat. The last two days I have been on a binge and felt like throwing up nonstop all day. I thought I would really appreciate all the fatty and greasy food that I had been missing out on, man was I wrong. Starting tomorrow it will be back to a cleaner diet. I finally started lifting again today and it felt good. Unfortunately I have been bloated all day so I was more worried about puking in the gym. I should have pictures up from the show in the next couple of days. thank to everyone for the encouragement and advice. It was fun and the feeling on that stage is like none other. Anyone who has thought about competeing but is unsure I definitly would suggest it. Once you do it you’ll get hooked too.

3 Days out

April 22, 2009

Well I know I have been slacking on this but I have been extremely busy. I decided to take two classes towards my associates degree and then the Contest prep on top of it. The contest prep I think has gone well for what could be done. I am already below the weight for the show so that will be no problem. I am going to carb load on friday night after weigh-ins and then continue on Saturday through out the show. It should be good. It has been a fun and interesting experience and I will like to do it again the proper way with the right diet. The hardest thing to do here was the diet due to not being able to cook my ownfood and everything here is loaded with sodium. It did make it a little difficult but I think it will be alright. Going to go ahead and apply the first coat of pro tan tonight and then two more on Friday. I will get some pictures posted as soon as I can. Thanks for all the support. Best wishes to everyone.

8 weeks out

March 2, 2009

alright so I am like 8 weeks out from the show over here and it is starting to get to crunch time. I have started taking the EC stack to get ready for the contest. I have never taken it before as fat loss has never been a main goal of mine as it just always kind of happened. I am getting pretty excited since there are only three people from my squadron competing against the entire rest of the base and I feel I have the best shot of taking this thing down. I am not sure about taking down overall but for my class it should be no problem I hope. Well I have to get with one of the trainers out here for posing practice soon and work on getting that all down. I mean I have been practicing in my room but that can only do so much there and with only one mirror can not see that much. I think I am going to go ahead and order my trunks on the 15th so they will be here in time and then my tanning stuff. Tanning is definitly going to be the hardest part. There really is not a place to fully lay out if you know what I mean so I am going to have to rely on some bottled goodness…lol. Anyways I am planning on training Back and Bi’s tonight and maybe taking some new progress pics tonight as well. Got the body fat done yesterday and it was 8.4% but I think it was off and I am higher than that. It is alright though I drop it quick. Well I hope you guys stick around for this ride. It should be fun. Good luck to all in everything you do.

So I decided to do the show!!!!!

January 16, 2009

Alright this should be fun but now time to put together a game plan. I am not really sure of how to prepare and I think that the diet is going to be the hardest thing over here since I am unable to cook my own food. Overall though I think it will be alright plus a little fun in the process. It is so great to feel that competative drive come out again. From looking at all the progress photos I think that upper chest is going to be my main challenge to try and bring it in in three months while cutting down. Well it should be a fun road ahead and is making me change my goals only slightly so eveything should be good. Well wish me luck and any advice is always welcome and appreciated.

To compete in show or not???

January 5, 2009

OK so I have been here in Qatar for about 3 weeks now. This place is great. They have probably the best gym in the AOR which is wonderful. It is open 24 hours and when i get off of work to lift it is practically empty. Anyways so things have been going well and I have been lifting pretty much 6 days a week. So everything is going good. Well I am in the gym today and I see that they are putting on a bodybuilding competition here in april. So I am contemplating on whether or not to go ahead and enter it. I have never competed so I think it would be fun to go ahead and try to do one. I think it would also give me a little extra focus on lifting while I am here too. So I think I am going to go ahead and give it a try. So if anyone has any precontest routines and diet help please send it my way. I’ll need all the help I can get.

The start of a new era

December 20, 2008

Well once again I am in the Mid East on another deployment. This is number 5 for me but it is definitly not bad this time. I am in a low threat area and really have nothing to worry about as far as attacks go so it leaves me plenty of time to get my lifting in. I am still on kind of an awkward schedule but within the week I should be able to get everything into place. There are two gyms here and both are beyond adequate for what I need. It should be a good 6 months and I should be able to make a very good transformation. I want to put on more mass and try to concentrate on my chest and arms this go around. Not that i will be taking it easy on any other body part but especially on those two parts. Other than that things are not bad. Food here is ok not great but it will suffice. all in all it should be a good deployment. Hope everyone is doing well and feel free to drop a line sometime.

Jacked my Back

November 12, 2008

So Im in doing a back workout the other day. Was going good and fine and then all of a sudden BAM!!!! I got this terrible pain in my lowerback. I was actually reaching down to pick up a 90lbs weight to do 1 arm rows with. I grab the weight and go to moved it and this pain shot down my lower back and into my Glutes.  I have no idea how to stretch it or what actually happened. It does not feel like a pulled muscle as there is no way to massage it or work it out. So needless to say I have been layed up for a few day and popping some flexril to try and make it through the pain. So hopefully I’ll be back and operational in a few days. So until then just trying to hang in there and get healed up.

Been a While

November 4, 2008

Yeah yeah I know, I know. Honestly it has been a while since I have been on here but I have been lifting and training so it was not a complete loss. Good news though I did manage to get on another deployment so I am heading out in December. Can’t say where yet but it is a very easy assignment and I will finally be out of the line of fire for a deployment. I was not able to maintain as well as I had hoped but the newest progress photos have been taken and while I have lost some overall I am happy that I am not where I was last November. Well overall The plan for the next 7 months will be the same as they were on last dpeloyment. I’m planning on bulking for about 5 months and then cutting for 2 to come home ready for the beach of course. I’m weighing regularly at 178 and just by look I am thinking about 10- 12% body fat. Goal would like to get to 190 or 195 with 7% or lower by 01 Jun 09.  Well I am going to get going. I should be on here a lot more now so feel free to stop by and take a look at the progress. Best wishes to everyone.

SHED A TEAR FOR ME!!

May 7, 2008

Well I am officially out of supplements….BOO!!!I am out of everything. Whey, multi vitamins, fish oil, all complete nothing. I thought I had it all calculated out right on how much I would need before heading bak to the states. But since our relief was delayed there was no way to get another order in country in time. Oh well. What can you do? Should be able to re-up within a week or so and then back to normal.

I am a little concerned about falling into the trap I fell into before when coming back from a deployment. Wanting to take some time off and all to relax but then never getting back in the gym. I am hoping to avoid that this time. I guess a new gym has opened up in Biloxi and the wifey wants to join so hopefully all goes well and I’ll be able to maintain.

I am very happy with the reults I have had the last 8 months. I look back at my first progress photos and don’t ever want to look like that again. I would also like to thank the bodyspace community as a whole. This site has been great. I like to think I have made some new friends all over the world and without their support during the tough times I probably would not have achieved as much as I have. So to all of you out there (you guys know who you are) thank you. The next post should come from the USA. Thanks again for evrything and those of you still over here. Hang in there and stay focused!!

Chest Issues

April 11, 2008

Ok well i am coming up on my final weeks of my deployment. Soon I will be back in the Great USA and hopefully enjoying a nice steak and maybe one or two stiff drinks. Overall I am happy with what I have been able to do with my body in the last 7 months roughly. I am happy with my progress and plan to continue once I return to the states. The only area that I am not happy with is my chest. While I can tell that it has come in some I still feel that it is the lagging part of my physique. I am thinking of upping my chest routine from once a week to twice just to see if I can notice a difference. A friend of mine said he had the same problem and went to two a week on chest and finally saw some results. Just wondering if anyone has any other suggestions besides just keep at and lift heavy…lol. That I already plan on doing. So if anyone has any tips for chest please let me know.
