Feel like i am hitting my first major checkpoint
Yeah, my lifts are at the first stage of having some real weight to them.
Bench: 225 x 5
Squat: 315 x 5
Deads: 425 x 5
Also i took and passed a personal training cert course. I feel like im finally done asking questions constantly and i have a good understanding of my body. Nutrition is easy and my lifts are still going up. feels good. Gonna get some real mass started now. Time for stage 2 to start.
going well
whats funny is I don't think anyone is reading this. Anyways, my nutrition is getting pretty focused. Leangains is amazing as well (intermittent fasting) and I think I should focus more on lifting heavy vs cutting high rep crap. I decided to focus in on my deadlift and suddenly I was lifting 375 like i've been doing it for a while... so there was some progress. I think Ill pass 400 in a couple weeks easy.
My lifts are still improving, I am going to really push for my deadlift to go up. My arms and chest need to see some size, along with my lats, so I have to focus on that as well. My squat is great and I am not in any rush to beat 300 at 5 reps this month.
introduction, what I've been doing.
Hey guys, I'm new here. Just thought I'd post a new blog entry, hope I can keep up with it. I will if it gets interaction with you guys! I have been working out for only 7 months. I started because I was getting out of a 6 year relationship and that was hard on me. Plus, I was a chain smoker of 15 years and I knew I was going to kill myself if I didn't change. When I do something I only go full force, I never do it any other way. Stronglifts 5x5 may have saved my life. It completely transformed my body and I have that to be thankful for. I am now doing more of a pyramiding routine, based off of "madcow." I also do targeting, like upright bench, shoulder raises and such. I've had 2 breaks of about 3-4 weeks long due to moving all over the country, which screwed up my gains. Now I'm in a good environment and able to really focus in without interruption. I also added heavy cardio to my routine as I'd like to cut for the summer. I am trying to figure out how much nutrition I should be taking in so I don't lose muscle or gain fat. any advice would be much appreciated! I think what I am looking for is a general guide for gaining and cutting to start with, for someone about my size. Then I can adjust accordingly. I know there is a general rule for carb/protein/fat/calorie intake for different phases?
