I had huge issues staying organized over christmas. My gym was closed, and I don’t really like working out at home (not much room, very little equipment, etc.). I was in a wedding that took me away from home right before xmas. So now factor in bachelor party (alcohol), having to eat out a lot, lunches, receptions, rehearsal dinner, and the wedding food (including cake), and then I stayed with my parents for xmas. My country parents who cook a lot of delicious country food. Possibly needless to say but I feel like a balloon. It is all my fault, but I do have some things to try to resolve. I need to find a couple of fast food places with healthy food that I like. I need to find a fulfilling healthy dish, unlike salad. I need to get more willpower.

I am having problems controlling my cravings. I can resist them most of the time, but sometimes I act like Im not even on a diet. I go from doing everything right eating lean, eating often and balancing my food to forgetting I’m on a diet and eating out with friends or in this case at a christmas party. I can gain or loose 5 lbs in one day, but it isn’t solid. The gain stays longer than the loose though.

Unless by some freak chance I am picked to do the 2008 body transformation contest (at which time I would wait on attempting substantial weight loss) I will be attempting to lose 10 pounds between today and January first. I know my goal is ambitious, and maybe not super healthy, but I will use the help of online resources, and knowledge obtained from my current college nutrition class to make sure I have proper nourishment. I also want to maintain some muscle mass, and ensure my metabolism stays on track. Wish me luck, tell me I am crazy, or do both.

I have decided that even though I am about to go into a cutting phase, I still want to work on my arms. Any advice? I was thinking I would up the routine, and only work on them on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would really like to be a contestant in the BB.com 2008 Competition. I know I could do it. I am going to do it either way, but the extra motivation would be nice.

I am not sure about the lingo, but I believe I m about to start a cutting phase. I have been working out like crazy. I have increased my squat by about 50lbs, bench by 20lbs, dead-lift by over 100lbs, and my bicep curl by about 15-20lbs. I feel better quicker, I feel more pumped, and more energetic, but I have started gaining weight. I was at 230 then I lost down to 210. Now I am up to 217. I will finish my 5×5 program for the week, because I am addicted. Then I will start trying to lose weight with cardio and dieting. Next week I will be finding my maxes and doing cardio. Thats it. Any advice on muscle retention while trying to lose weight would be great.

Today I decided to increase my dead-lift weight on the 5×5 program by more than the standard 5-10lbs, I decided to go up 40lbs. When I noticed there was little difference in the difficulty I finished the 5 sets of five, and then I went up to 250lbs. After 250 I went up to 300lbs. I feel that if I had skipped the 5×5 I could have lifted 400 lbs. 300lbs really wasn’t that tough, but I didn’t want to exhaust myself before doing my other workouts.

The 5×5 program is going well, I have decided I am a big fan. I adjusted my diet again, and feel like I am losing weight again. I am also taking the supplement NO Xplode. I feel like NO Xplode gives me lots of energy when I work out. I am going to updat a progress pic. I can see the difference in size of my arms, and my weight. I still have a ways to go in both.
