Blog Entry

Today I did my shoulder workout i did some burn outs after my regular workout Im trying to get to the weight where i can do the first set of four ok then have to push to get to 10 on sets 2-3 but Iam afraid of lifting to heavy and getting bigger i need muscle cause i have read that building muscle plus cardio is the best way to get into shape but the so called experts at my unit say that i shouldnt lift at all and do nothing but cardio any advise on this

experts my ass. 3 key things in fitness:

    1. Nutrition
    2.Weights
    3.Cardio

Unless your genetically build to grow fast and you dont have to worry about what you eat, you wont have to worry about getting big. Keep at it. Your doing it right so far.

it depends on your goals. If its weight loss then lifting and cardio are both important. Id say lifting is important whatever your fitness goals are but for weight loss, 15 reps and 30 second rest periods would probably be best

I agree with MAGL "experts my ass"
You need to lift enough that you don’t lose too much of the muscle you have. As long as you are in a calorie deficit, you are not going to get bigger from lifting.
    Muscle burns calories 24/7.
Cardio burns calories when you are doing it.
Stay STRONG and most of all STAY SAFE!!
